When Despise agreed to do this mix, I knew it would be a good one, because Iv'e seen the legendary talent that she and Shoebox have brought through Recon out in Colorado and I knew that she had great taste in music, I was right, when you listen to her mix, you'll see!!

Despise’s mix starts off with an old school feel,  then everything goes dark and heavy! The mix switches up to a massive, amen tune and some halftime and footwork, fluidly moving from track to track! It then slides through some jungle and footwork, Despise then twists things dark and old school with the perfect combo of halftime, footwork, and jungle! The finale features a personal favorite from Dead Man’s Chest! Despise crushed this mix to bits and bits and bits, such a great mix!!!

Simstah from Bern, Switzerland is one half of Drum&Bass production outfit Konfront.Audio which is featured on a number of international labels such as Flexout, Demand, Fokuz, Syndrome, Soul Deep and Citrus. 
Simstah started out Djing at the very early age of ten years. After being hooked on Drum&Bass in 1996 he branched out into production in 2008 and is currently working on several different studio projects. Simstahs musical taste encompasses the broad spectrum of Drum&Bass, but he likes to work on the more down-tempo side of things as well. He landed his first solo-release on Structured music in 2015 and has releases on Blendits Audio, Jazzsticks Recordings, Flight Pattern Rec., Dutty Audio, Syndrome Audio and Re:st Rec. . Apart from production Simstah is regularly playing at major Swiss Events such as Darkside at Dachstock Berne or Mute at Hive Zürich.
Markee is the former third DJ member of Konfront.Audio. Originally a Hip Hop Head and skilled man on the decks, he regularly played out Drum & Bass for over 10 years but decided to have a break from Djing in 2010 to focus on other projects, most notably on his photography work. Markee is now mostly responsible for the photographic content of Bern Bass Podcast but luckily spins regularly in our series.

Calico (formerly Dj Bias) Is a Vancouver based dj who started when he purchased his first set of turntables after listening to skratch djs, quickly tho he moved into mixing Drum n'Bass. Things then really started heating up when he started a weekly Drum n’Bass night at The Met called ‘Fixed Fridays’ which went on for 4 years in Vancouver.  At the same time Bias also was part of a weekly Drum n’Bass radio show on local UBC radio CiTr 101.9 fm called ‘Shadow Jugglers’ with fellow Jungalist rudegal ‘MP’.  He has had the honor play along side artists such as Chase & Status, Nosia, Subfocus, Pendulum, Dj Hype, Dj Fresh, Kenny Ken, Dub FX, Marcus Visionary, Nicky Blackmarket, Remarc, Dj Zinc, Rusko, Djunya, Luke Envoy, Babylon System, Gridlok, Deaga Sound, Shy FX, Joe Nice, The Upbeats and Danny Byrd and played all across Canada and into the US all the way to Scotland UK. When Dubstep and deep end bass music was starting to come into the scene in the mid to late 2000s Bias was also a strong supporter playing the odd dubstep track at Fixed Fridays as well as hosting Dubstep and Drum n’Bass parties and doing a radio show on Dubstep.fm. If you’ve seen Bias play then you know he doesn’t mess around and always pushes the technical limits of Dj-ing as well as having deep selections of music and a passion to share the vibe. Fast forward to 2018/beyond, he is going by the name Calico with a monthly radio show on Friday 8pm-10pm(pacific) on Sub.fm. Calico plays and loves a large variety of music from 140/Dubstep, Grime, Trap, Bassline, and general rudebwoy bass vibes but will always be a strong supporter and advocate for his first love Drum n’Bass and Jungle music.
