This is my second demo using and showcasing 8Dio's new Deep Quintet Strings library. My goal was to try it out on a classical piece with a lot of "Max Richter" like repetitive string lines so I figured why not completely spoil this gorgeous composition by the master himself: Philip Glass.

I can't say I am satisfied with this outcome but since I like to document the process rather than the results, here it is - warts and all.

Instruments used:

- organ: Xsample Concert Organ
- soprano sax parts: Xsample Contemporary Saxophones soprano
- celli: 8Dio Deep Quintet Strings twin celli legato patch

Near the end you'll hear two small bits with the cello line solo'd. The first one has some equalization applied as well as reverb. The second iteration is the cello patch in all of its bone dry glory.

Hold the Gate

Ambient cinematic composition with lush vocal pads.  The main libraries used were the "Amy Atelier Series" from Musical Sampling and Eric Whitacre Choire (Evo) from Spitfire Audio.  The guitar sound was achieved using Archetype Cory Wong from NeuralDSP pushed through a granular effect (Silo by Unfiltered Audio).

Cinematic rock/pop track that can be applied to various genres.  The main piano melody was recorded using Noire from Native Instruments, along with synth parts from Arturia Pigments and Arturia's Buchla Easel emulation.  The drums and percussion were rendered using a mix of Superior Drummer and Albion One from Spitfire Audio.  The guitar parts were tracked live and then re-amped through Archetype Nolly and Archetype Cory Wong (NeuralDSP).

The Beacon

Generative ambient track inspired by Brian Eno and Music for Airports.  The sounds used are the Scarbee A-200, the Harmonium from Spitfire's Albion NEO, and Sound Dust Volume 2 along with some street sounds from Los Angeles and Lisbon, Portugal.
