In this installment of Sound Advice, we’re joined by Bicep, the Belfast-born, London-based duo whose deft blend of house, trance and breaks have made them some of the UK’s most acclaimed live electronic performers. After two albums on the Ninja Tune label — 2017’s self-titled and 2021’s ‘Isles’ — and years of touring, they’re now back in their studio, working on their club-focused ‘CHROMA’ series and forthcoming album. We caught up with Matt McBriar and Andy Ferguson from their studio to discuss their genre-agnostic influences, their musical evolution as Bicep, the creative challenges of having a digital and analog studio, and how they’ve used SoundCloud to grow as artists.
