 Mesmer has been the broken beats pioneer in Romania since 1996. 
 Founder of the first Romanian breakbeat label Scarcity Records and responsible for producing the first ever Romanian breaks album, Furious Fish released on Sound Of Habib in 2008.
 Mesmer has quickly become known as one of the ﬁnest producers the country has to offer and has had support from many of the biggest names around: Annie Nightingale on Radio One, Jay Cunning on Kiss FM, Matt Darey's “Nocturnal” and many more. With releases on high profile record labels such as Future Perfect (of Hardcore Beats crew), Bombtraxx and Sound Of Habib, Mesmer is building a reputation as one to watch, and as of 2009 Mesmer has launched his own label Scarcity Records. 

 With an eclectic view, Scarcity drops mainly breaks and sometimes even tech-house, dubstep and drum and bass tracks for the dance floors worldwide while maintaining a catalogue of productions that sets a standard of quality. If you like your beats dipped in lush melodies, acidic hooks and thunderous basslines, then this is a label worthy of your attention. Scarcity has become one of the most consistent labels around today and recently won the “Best New Label” award at the biggest international breakbeat awards Breakspoll in 2011 held in London, UK. In 2020, we celebrate the first decade in the history of our label. At a time when RUNE Recordings remains one of the latest labels promoting breaks, we want to present our community all the variety of this genre in the next ten releases.

The album of remixes on the tracks of our leading resident — Mechanical Pressure — consists of twelve remixes made by artists from England, Germany, Spain, USA, Hungary, Latvia, Belarus, and Ukraine. We sincerely hope that everyone will find out several tracks to their taste because there is all the variety of styles from progressive- and tech-breaks to amen break and neurofunk drum'n'bass.
