The songs from this pop version of my album contain elements of mainstream pop
 combined with elements of alternative pop and includes acoustic, orchestral, and piano throughout. On any given song on this album there will be traditional pop type beats blended together with those elements and other synthesized sounds.  This particular song is probably the mostly centered in Pop of any of the songs on this album.  It probably feels a bit out of place but i enjoyed it so much i teeaked it to fit in more with the rest of the album.  This was the hardest genre for me to get music I felt was really good and get final pop versions of songs for this first album I was confident in releasing.  Similar to the Alternative Hip Hop Version of this album that is also on here I enjoy music that is able to successfully blend many different elements in a way where they don't overshadow each other and they get their own place in songs to take over while working having it all together in the rest of the songs. "Twenty in the Hat" is the chaotic Bonus Track. A raw, garage-punk anthem that crashes the party. It flips the script on the glossy holiday image, shouting that the real spirit of the New Year isn't about the food on the table, but about helping the guy freezing outside. From intimate indie-folk and dusty lo-fi beats to a garage-punk reality check in the finale, this album is for anyone who wears a paper crown in a kingdom of dust.

"Got My Back to the Wind" is based on a night out I had where I found myself at the casino till the late hours of the morning. I pieced together moments and characters from the night as inspiration for the song and based the narrative around a larger-than-life main protagonist - a sharp dressed, martini-drinking gambler with attitude, rolling with the big time players.⁣

The character finds himself winning effortlessly and thinking he can do no wrong. Draped in woman, with pockets full of money, and completely out of his mind, he eventually stumbles out of the casino in the early hours of the morning looking for the next adventure. ⁣
⁣
"Got My Back to the Wind" is the high before the hangover.
