I wanted the left hand to groove like a Motown bass line, only gently: insistent, but way down low on the back burner.

Is this little bagatelle deceptively simple or deceptively difficult? I'm not sure, but it's a further episode in my fantasy that J.S. Bach might want to sound like me. This time he's introducing Anna Magdalena to odd metres. As Sting didn't quite say, 'If you love somebody, show them how to groove in seven'.
'Buck buck, prang!' is a phrase coined by Wexforde Brandish to indicate a failed attempt at something.

Rio Concha Nuevo

This tune just won't go away. I set out to write something innocent and catchy in 7, but now I just can't leave it alone. 'Buck Buck Prang' is my expression for 'Well, that was a bit of a disaster'. It was inspired by Sarah Garland's charming Tex The Cowboy series of children's books.
Here it is arranged for guitar trio. Contact me if you'd like to hear it arranged for some other instruments. Remember, all my sheet music is available free.

Esta melodía simplemente no desaparecerá. Me propuse escribir algo inocente y pegadizo en 7, pero ahora no puedo dejarlo solo. 'Buck Buck Prang' es mi expresión para 'Bueno, eso fue un desastre'. Se inspiró en la encantadora serie de libros infantiles Tex The Cowboy de Sarah Garland.

I wrote this as the bridal entry for a family wedding. The couple wanted 'simple, not sad and not like other wedding music'. Piece of (wedding) cake. Congratulations to you if you can spot the allusions to Russian folk music, and a reverse tip of the hat to Steely Dan, in the B section.

Escribí esto como la entrada nupcial para una boda familiar. La pareja quería 'simple, no triste y no como otra música de boda'. Pedazo de pastel (de boda). Enhorabuena si puedes ver las alusiones a la música folclórica rusa y una punta del sombrero inversa a Steely Dan, en la sección B.

The Bride (La Novia)

The Bullgoose sprang from a musical family. After a promising start, he spent years seven to fifteen unwittingly fracking in the piano repertoire for deep deposits of lacklustre. A chance encounter with a ramshackle three stringed guitar clicked certain tumblers into place and music started making sense. After cutting his teeth playing bass in Australia's first Steely Dan covers band, the Bullgoose rolled, as a wet dog in the dust, in jazz, funk and fusion then trotted off to teach various instruments and write musicals. The Bullgoose's current mission is to write short tunes for a time-poor world. Hope you dig these simple piano miniatures, and some random themes from my musicals.

El Bullgoose surgió de una familia musical. Después de un comienzo prometedor, pasó de siete a quince años, sin saberlo, tocando el repertorio del piano en busca de depósitos profundos de deslucido. Un encuentro casual con una destartalada guitarra de tres cuerdas hizo clic en ciertos vasos en su lugar y la música comenzó a tener sentido. Después de cortar los dientes tocando el bajo en la primera banda de covers de Steely Dan de Australia, el Bullgoose rodó, como un perro mojado en el polvo, en jazz, funk y fusión, luego trotó para enseñar varios instrumentos y escribir musicales.
