We're excited about VDS Podcast Nr.022 - our last VDS Podcast for the year of 2022! Closing this amazing year with a seasonal atmospherical string-packed journey is none other than one of the heads behind the legendary Pingipung label, Mme Bing from Hamburg, Germany.

Mme Bing, aka Andrea Wienck, is a passionate vinyl collector. She has honed her musical taste while co-running the Pingipung label for over a decade, as well as by working in record shops. She prefers her melodies raw and gloomy, and she selects them very carefully - it’s a rare but always delightful moment to catch her live at the decks.

Dive into this beauty of strings, guitars and melancholic melodies, which Mme Bing herself calls “The heart as a paperweight”. Mme Bing recommends listening to this set with a purring cat on your chest.

For our jubilee we welcome Michael Mayer from Cologne. He is not only an amazing DJ, but also our distribution boss at Kompakt. Here's what he says about his mix:

"One fine day there was a package on my desk, inside a 7" single with good mood music on yellow vinyl, wrapped in a hand painted good mood cover. It was Pingipung 01, Peter Presto's "Es war Sommer" and it was love at first sight. That this flash in the pan would turn into a 20-year (business) relationship is one of the most beautiful stories you can experience in the music business. After moving to Leipzig he quickly fell for the striving music scene and was looking for a way to take part in it. Sevensol is one true original of Leipzigs music scene. Together with Map.Ache and Bender he is owning KANN Label since 11 years already. This year they published their 41st release! Some years ago they even had their own record store in the south of Leipzig. But having to invest so much into new records every week wasn’t the real deal, so they focused on rather playing and releasing records. Sevensol in combination with Map.Ache is forming the DJ Team Manamana as which they are part of the residents of Nachtdigital festival, which took place for 22 consecutive years in Saxonias Olganitz.

Coming a long way from Bari, Italy, Emde joined us for a cozy Monday session in Leipzig. Other than digging crazy funky tunes from all over the world in the deepest parts of the internet, Emde is part of Leipzigs Øst Collective. With Øst and three other Crews they just threw a full-time weekender at Mjut, Leipzig. Also he took part in the organization of this years Camp Cosmic and planned a stage at the festival.
