The Leipzig based old-school pioneer and head of the Uncanny Valley Sub-Label will spin some records on our next showcase. With numerous releases on different Labels such as: Bordello A Parigi, Chiwax, Mechatronica & Pinkman he’s always busy keeping the style alive. Genre boundaries are not familiar to the synthesizer enthusiast Alexander Dorn, who is highly inspired by 90’s Hip-Hop culture which led him through various musical phases, enjoying Classic Electro, Body Music, Chicago House, Detroit Techno or New Wave.

‘Misinformation Campaign’ is Sherard Ingram's third EP for TRUST after 2007’s ‘Bio Electronics’ and 2009’s ‘Social Engineering’, which RA praised as belonging to a “small group of electronic music tracks that transcend genre and time”.

On ‘Misinformation Campaign’ Sherard Ingram contrasts his lightning-fast electro-inspired rhythms with lush synth melodies and glistening arpeggios. On occasion more menacing and dystopian moods gain the upper hand, such as on the b-side’s ‘Who’s Watching the Watchers’ and ’Defect’.

‘Misinformation Campaign’ is a record that’s impossible to pigeonhole, refining a style that is unmistakably Stingray‘s own and which has over the past years earned its creator the respect of the electro, techno, dubstep, electronica, and minimal d’n’b camps alike.

Starting our intergalactic journey this year with Leipzigs finest Dj Detox aka Gnista, not only resident at Mjut but also night manager and part of the orga  team behind the club. Born in the Osterzgebirge, Dresden raised and now based in Leipzig he is providing us with various releases on labels such as R.A.N.D, Uncanny Valley, F.T.P, Mechatronica & Brokn Toys, to name a few. He first made contact with making music by playing guitar in several small band projects, from there he started to collect dubstep vinyls and later figured out how to produce his own beats with Ableton. Since 2011 he has been inspired and teached a lot by Steve Kasper aka Steve.e and the Sub Sickness Crew from Dresden. Now his unique style ranges from electro breakbeats over to uk garage and jungle sounds all the way to classic house. We are very happy to kick off the year with this machine warrior on january 7th, 6pm CET!

For our next episode we invited Ambient-Dadaists Technik AG. With their hybrid live-set between turntablism and synthesizing these two sound designers creat dynamic soundscapes with floating textures and sharp contrasts. Besides drones and beats you will also recognise obscure voice samples and field recordings, impulsively arranged, somewhere between techno and musique concrète.
This one is going to be special in many ways: we are broadcasting live from the Eckladen location on Karl-Heine-Straße with a special light and video installment by trq_billy, on february 4th, 6pm CET.
