'lonely suicides' was written in Spring 2014 and first performed in the RNCM Composers' Concert 2014. The piece was inspired by several war poems that depict the torment and struggles soldiers are faced with when they return from war scenes to 'normal' life. 
It is palindromic and takes advantage of both whole-tone scales; switching from one to the other at the central 'axis'.

This piece was requested by Jonathan Bates for his recital this year at the RNCM.
It is written for tenor horn and delay delay.
In this recording I have used Logic Pro to add the delay effect onto the track, however a live delay pedal will be used in performance.
