Vrika - 12.3653200 - Quédate en CALMA vol. 1

Past November, within the FLIPAS 2020 Festival program, CALMA collective was invited to organize a musical meeting with the Portuguese DJ and musician Jorge Caiado at the Goethe-Institut Madrid. For the occasion we developed the idea of a musical "CONTAGIO" between the two countries. We invited Jorge to do a DJ set with music produced in his country, and he gave us a fantastic selection of tracks focused on listening, from many different eras, in a perfectly assembled set (mix of vinyl and digital). The evening was completed by our residents Josephine' Soundscapes, conducting a commented session of music produced in Spain, and Vrika playing a live act with his unpublished material. Many thanks to Alfredo Miralles, Mateo Feijoo and the FLIPAS / Goethe-Institut Madrid team.

Ryan Griffin, the man behind the blog and label @astrangelyisolatedplace.

Started to spin turntables while he was only 16 years old, after spent some time in Ibiza discovered more atmospheric downtempo music.

In 2004 he started working at Crosstown Rebels (record label), but soon created his own project called A Strangely Isolated Place, mainly focusing on musician's exclusive mixes, records releasing/publishing and promoting creations by other artists.

By constantly developing his music community and label, has published a large catalog of works.
