Spanish electronica star Henry Saiz proudly presents the first taste of his ambitious Kickstarter-funded album ‘Human’, the eclectic opus he’ll soon release as Henry Saiz & Band. Now this first single, ´The Golden Cage´, signals that the album release is coming soon and that it’s been well worth the wait.

Saiz has always shown a lot of depth and musicality in his dancefloor creations, but ‘The Golden Cage’ lets these qualities shine like never before. A slinky, dreamy slice of indie/electronica fusion, its breathy vocals shimmer over slow-motion beats and a languid bassline as melancholy chord progressions play out through glistening synths. Its slow-burning, slow-building approach reaps rewards, with vocoded vocal layers adding to the tension as song unfolds into air-esque territory. Beautiful, hazy melodies abound as glimpses of soft spoken female vocals glide into earshot. The track builds to an intense crescendo with a flurry of triumphant arpeggios supporting the rousing vocal refrains. The result is an impressively sophisticated, complex piece of electronic pop that marks Henry Saiz & Band out as something very special indeed.

Sébastian Léger goes electro-disco on his remix, enlisting some serious live bass line funk alongside hip-shaking percussion and immense synth wizardry. David Douglas hones in on the dizzying synth work of the original for his expressly electronic rework, while Arabs With Synthesizer’s two versions opt for a more experimental approach, glitching up vocals for minimalistic versions that retain some of that low-end groove.

Look out for a second single in the coming months, followed by the full album.

Premiere | Alex Gragnani - So Long (am I Taking Off Remix)[imagine]

I had a lot of train journeys recently and I love watching the wires seemingly dance around outside the window. I wondered if we could be getting fooled by a similar process during our usual experience of movement and time, and thought it would be an interesting project for a music video set to the music created during the same journeys.

For the music I wanted to bring ideas of frozen moments of the past into play, and no better excuse to get stuck in with the Prophet 6 on some lush classic analogue synth sounds for the main chord sequence, and plenty of nob noodling for a dance of modulating sounds around the main sequence. I wanted to keep it fairly sparse to let the chord patch be central, and just focus on trying to make every element, including the percussion, warp a little, so you can either listen to the track from a distance and hear the harmonic ideas, or delve in to find all sorts more hiding in there.

In part three of the Babiczstyle journey where we are following the fabulous creatures, this time we dive into the world of emotions even more deeply. All five tracks are unified by the expression of absolute artistic freedom and break up with old, stuck patterns.

Fans of analog gear will be incredibly happy with this record full of beautiful, soft tape noise and creative colourful modular sounds. Every careful listener will notice that all music made here is produced with the highest level of quality, effort, affection to detail and, of course, a lot of love.

In track number one, we witness a dialogue between an electric piano and a spanish guitar. While the keys are lost in a melancholic mood, the string instrument clears up the sadness and declares that ‘Everything Will Be Alright’.

‘What Matters Most’ unfolds the full spectrum of a truly epic electronic symphony. You won’t even notice the extra length, because already after a few beats you get totally drawn into the sound of this emotional travel.

Next we meet a ‘Bear On The Move’ – a piece of music which possesses the same characteristics as the peaceful animal: positive, cosy, comfortable, but always with a certain strength. Furthermore, the characteristic deep bassline spreads tranquility and wisdom.

Dub techno lovers will be very happy with ‘Echo Me Please’, a really trippy piece for after- after hours.

At the end of this part of the Babicz journey we climb on ‘Mind Mountains’, a place where you can easily get lost in wide sound, inner thoughts and manifold pictures which are evolving while listening.

Hot on the heels of his recent groundbreaking Fabric 64 compilation, Supplement Facts bossman Guy Gerber is now ready to get "Steady" with a brand new EP and worldwide tour.

Acclaimed photographer Martin Zalba Ibáñez has been tapped to provide a new series of B&W photos for the iconic Supplement Facts covers. The first one can be seen on Gerber's first release on his own Supplement Facts label in almost two years, which sees him pairing with dOP frontman Jaw for 'Steady,' a melodic track filled with soaring synth lines, Guy's emotional bass guitar chords, and Jaw's incredibly performance featuring his trademark eerie, distorted vocals.

Rounding out the release is a beefed up Midland remix of Steady - perfect for peak time dance floor destroying. The vinyl B- side is a re-edit of the Golden Sun & the Silver Moon, a dreamy standout track off of the Fabric compilation (and Guy's alternate name for the Fabric mix itself) featuring vocals by Clarion North of Footprintz (look for their upcoming album on Visionquest soon).
