Light of our own

Inclusion is my first solo effort of 2016. It is a track relating to love and desire, projection and personal growth: what it means to appreciate and what it means to  react to appreciation of and in others. The traps of desire and the long term goals of unconditional love.
I play and produced everything and I think the track has some nice cinematic elements to it that lend itself to movies as well as the alternative scene.
I have tried to keep a dynamic rhythm section with the guitar as a poetry creating landscape and emotion as a platform for my lead vocal.
 There is a lot of interplay and I hope that the serious listener will find details and movement in the musical interactions to delight after many listens, the song and style itself growing as you grow with listens. I hope you enjoy it and as always- Feel the Love!

Part-time paratrooper is a conversation in abstract between a special forces soldier and his wife. When she learns that he has to leave every few months to the four corners of the world to serve his and her nation in potentially life threatening ways, her emotional response changes his inner calm, his ability to focus...He reminds her that the picture he needs of her is the romantic one he keeps in his mind, the happiness of her, the joy of her, the love they share....

Part-time Paratrooper

A funky Latin/rock/ jazzy jam designed to play on live as a way to solo through the band at an appropriate point. A result of this is, of course, that the track can be anything from four to twenty minutes long depending on the vibe. This version is from an older recording supped up for your pleasure!

Ravenssong

'She covets' is a song about the need to blame and the desire to reject blame in a dualistic, two dimensional, Newton- like, push pull, act-react, animalistic response to interaction, conversation and expectation, with the information shared between the characters becoming a weight, an emotional burden, as apposed to the normal problem-solution-shared co-operation attitude of the adult in complimentary forces...enjoy :-)

She covets

'There's only you' is a love song that begs for a massive ending and sometimes(live) gets one with the minimalistic but heart felt chorus growing and growing with vocal interplay and polyrythmic counterpoint systems creating intensity and evoking the passion of the tune to greater and greater heights. This version is the soft and sensitive, guitar based composition that is its musical stem.
                  I hope it is a good song, I feel it deeply and believe that a song is only, really, great if you can take everything away and one guy and a guitar can make it rock in a small, sweaty, smokey, intimate setting with real connoisseurs, that know the difference. I think this is one of those songs...:-) 

There's only you (systems govern rational-part1)

Back to the haven of rocking guitars and solos with this one. Lyrically it is about conditioning of society through media. Not as a conspiracy but as a bi product of the content competing for your attention and thus the mind to mind systems that are used to achieve it, with, 'costs you less and gains you more!!' (assume appropriate accent to suit :-) and visual/sensual/emotional attachments to legitimate beauties of body, mind and spirit, until we are reduced to receiving superficial commands such as ' look there are some TITS..buy my biscuit! Now, with 10% extra!!!!until the very children we produce are channeled and honed to these levels of mundane, superficial commands by our practices as parents and the individual choices of input by the components(people) of society as a whole.

A fun song about a break up. The female protagonist in a grump and kind enough to leave a letter alluding to the male characters lack of positive attributes as she ups and leaves...hehe, Drama:-)

The Break Up

The nun is a nice amalgamation of major7/9/12 movements (Dorian, i guess; with f being f# )descending. Distorto vocals and a punky, loose approach to the play in the drums and sound. The lyrics are about the essential doubts and lack of faith that can occur through attachment to dogmatic systems of religious enterprise, where obedience to the protocol of the 'promise' and dogma of a system as a substitute for spiritual choices and living, leaves the practitioner in constant question unless they take the choice to blindly accept or emotionally question. Our character is a nun. Her low level exploration of these large questions is based on her lack of growth as a person as a bi-product of her choices, leaving her with questions like, 'If you are real then prove it!!?' etc etc. I love the song and it is my wife's favourite..:-)
