In the next 25 years, AI will evolve to the point where it will know more on an intellectual level than any human. In the next 50 or 100 years, an AI might know more than the entire population of the planet put together. At that point, there are serious questions to ask about whether this AI — which could design and program additional AI programs all on its own, read data from an almost infinite number of data sources, and control almost every connected device on the planet — will somehow rise in status to become more like a God. And if an AI is in total control, you have to wonder what it might do…⁣⁣

‘Machine Therapy’ marks the first album from Alan Fitzpatrick in a decade, with standout debut collaborations including High Contrast as well as UK vocalist and Bloc Party frontman Kele. 
Alan Fitzpatrick has had a remarkable career to date. Few artists can claim to have headlined Berghain and also had a hit on daytime BBC Radio 1, but then there aren’t many artists like Alan Fitzpatrick. 
  
One of the most popular techno DJs in the world, he has rubbed shoulders with the likes of Carl Cox and Adam Beyer for the best part of a decade, performing at the world’s biggest clubs and festivals. Known primarily for his raw hard-edged sound, Alan has developed into one of dance music’s most versatile producers, equally at home putting out techno bangers on Drumcode as he is making disco-infused house anthems, or experimental electronica under his 3STRANGE alias, not to mention his impressive range of collaborations (including CamelPhat, Skream and Jamie Jones). 
  
A proven global headliner and founder of one of the UK’s most exciting new dance imprints ‘We Are The Brave’, Alan now joins forces with the acclaimed UK label Anjunadeep for his most ambitious release to date, and his first album in ten years - ‘Machine Therapy’. 

Alongside the announce, Alan shares the first LP single. ‘W.A.I.S.T.D’ combines thunder-imbued kick drums with the sombre vocal tones of featured artist Kele, lead singer of previous U.K. chart toppers Bloc Party, the jovial introduction of breakbeat rhythm sections and glowing chord progressions is fanatically overshadowed by a dazzling sawtooth bassline, dragging this kaleidoscope arrangement through dark depths and galvanising highs. Kele has released several solo releases, with his vocal contributions finding their home on tracks with the likes of Sub Focus, Tiesto and The Chemical Brothers. 

The album title derives from the time Alan has spent in his home studio, with the hardware he has collected over the years, the machines offering a sort of therapy during the pandemic.

Original mix is a stratight up tech track, reverbed haunting vox, big kick drums, solid percussion, piercing hats - all elements that are the standard for a good techno track. Play this one loud, it is sure to rattle the speakers!

Acid AJ returns once again to the label on the remix after the success of his previous track, I Don't Know. Acid AJ picks up the pace of the track with his tech house spin on the original mix and would work well in both tech house and warm up techno sets.

With features on BBC Introdcing and releases on Hypnohouse and Twisted Recordings, WLSN comes with a top pedigree and provides an excellent Acid Techno take on the original. That acid bassline weaves around the other elements within the track to provide a hypnotic sound that pulls you in for more.

2016 was a standout year for Alan Fitzpatrick, with the Drumcode stalwart racing out of the gates in spectacular fashion with the release of his fabric 87 mix. A substantial amount of high profile shows followed, including appearing at the inaugural Junction 2 festival and closing the car park to a packed-to-the-rafters-crowd at Drumcode Halloween. He returns to Drumcode with ‘Brian’s Proper Dun One’, marking his first appearance on the label since late 2016 when he remixed Moby’s seminal ‘Porcelain’.

The release opens with ‘Brian’s Proper Dun One’, a track which caused a Twitter meltdown on Alan’s profile when he first started playing it at the tail end of 2016. Loaded with sharp and pounding drums, this is an ethereal experience from start to finish and packs a real punch. It’s a no holds barred, certified main room anthem. ‘Wait A Second’ feat. mc r1bbz has been a staple of Adam Beyer’s sets of late and has been getting a lot of air time on Drumcode Radio. This rave inspired track takes a raw, stripped back approach and delivers a real killer blow. Alan sampled the vocals of mc r1bbz from an LTJ Bukem tape pack from the early 90s and the record tips its cap to early jungle raves around the M25. The release closes with ‘Trance, Init?’; A homage to Alan’s days first and foremost as a raver before he became a DJ, with his non-purist attitude when it comes to electronic music shining through. The breakdown is sure to be a hands in the air moment at festivals all over the globe this summer.

Alan Fitzpatrick - Brian’s Proper Dun One - Drumcode - DC173

After making his debut on the very first Prospekt EP two short years ago, we are proud to have Gary Burrows as part of the Respekt family, and to welcome him back for his fourth outing on the label.
'Something You Need' is classic Burrows, with a rave-inspired riff and bassline married to a classic vocal snippet and pummelling drums. Hungarian duo Steam Shape take on the mantle of remixing the beast, and do so with acidic aplomb.
Track two is another vocal led cut in the form of 'Keep On'. Slightly (but only slightly!) more laid back than the A-side, this one brings in lush pads to add another layer to the formula. The second remix comes courtesy of Luca De-Santo, who whizzes up the parts with some nasty saw riffs and sharp percussion.
