Glaswegian collaborative project of our well known producers - MR TC and Lo Kindre - has grown into a result of a new label on radar, Phase Group, as well as their first soon to be released EP, PHASE001.

The Knees is a second track of EP’s hypnotic, analogue-fueled rhythmics. Minimalistic and full of prominent synth notes, it guides us through the synthesis of mixed genres and motifs of darker electronics, making listeners journey genuinely mysterious, yet captivating.

PHASE001 will be out on 14th August available from Rubadub.

Of course they never actually went away: their label Darkroom Dubs has remained the tour de force it’s always been since it launched in 2003. They remain just as in-demand as touring DJs, too. But life doing what it does best (getting in the way of doing cool stuff) has prevented Silicone Soul from what they do best (make music). Until now…

‘Fahrenheit 625’ raises the heat on Darkroom Dubs seminal Traxx series. Tailored for low-lights and lower-ceilings, it’s their darkest sonic laboratory and the perfect home for this comeback thumper. Stripped-back, heads-down grit noir with a juicy, thumping bassline, a vocal from one of the greatest house conjurors of all time and some devilishly trippy elements, ‘Fahrenheit 625’ is heavy and gets straight to the point. An unabashed statement of comeback intent from Craig and Graeme… It leaves us wanting more.

Remix-wise Mexican techno maestro Theus Mago links up with continental cousin ld!r for a subversive excursion, where a whole new top-line spirals in and out of focus with raffishly funky results. Finally, Argentina’s Shall Ocin dusts off some majestic organ chords, whips up a snake-like synth-line straight out of 1999 but bites like it’s 2029. It sounds like the future, but the speed we’re all hurtling at we’ll be there before we know it. March, come on, we’ll take you there…

The bar was crowded and noisy, a constant thrashing of sound that made it hard to hear your own thoughts. The men of the town came to drink here every night; they would tell tales of the days events and brag to one another about their various accolades. As the night went on, the men's arrogance grew, fuelled by multiple scotches and tankards of bitter. When the clock struck 12, the door swung open and a woman clad in black confidently made her way to the bar. All eyes were on her as she moved through the room. She cast a glare to either side and the men sheepishly looked away. She was fierce, nobody here would dare to challenge her. Everybody was afraid of her and that's exactly the way she liked it...

For the second release on her and friend Umut's label Müstesna, Ece Özel has rounded up both local Turkish producers and overseas friends to feature on their forthcoming compilation sheLter. Over 25 artists have contributed to the VA release, including international friends like Beesmunt Soundsystem, Alessandro Adriani, Mr TC and Tolouse Low Trax, as well as native artists like Mehmet Aslan, Emre Can Swim and Erdnik Ol. The impetus behind this compilation is to provide financial support and create national and international awareness of trans murders and trans suicides in Turkey, where the murder rate is the highest in Europe. All proceeds will be given to “Eylül Cansın Trans Guest House" - a place founded by the Istanbul LGBTI Solidarity Association - and will help provide support and generate income for the guest home to find a new home and keep the establishment going.

The 2nd release on Phase Group comes from the mind of young Belgrade-based producer, Andria.

With o o o o o Andria presents four tracks of otherworldly sounds. Music made on mutant technology for apocalyptic rave rituals, showcasing a deep talent in sound design and rhythmic manipulation.

‘Osion’ opens the EP in epic fashion, melancholic and driving dark IDM that introduces us to Andria's sonic world. '6h of Sna' builds up the intensity with some ominous space-age dancehall. Title-track 'o o o o o' is a heady club tool for serious dance floors, inspired no-doubt by countless nights at Belgrade techno-haven Drugstore, where Andria holds a residency. Finally, 'Komina' brings everything back down to a subterranean crawl, the swirling and whispering sounds of unfamiliar technology echoing to you from all sides.

Neud Photo (Nico Nightingale) has been on a tear lately and this latest offering for Mysidian shows up as his most dark and menacing. The electro meets techno sound we know him for is still prevalent but the amnesia-inducing 'Dreamz' carries thumping EBM and New Beat influences as well. R&S meets Subway meets Mute. 
While each track plays on it's own themes independently with tasteful vocal samples and industrial energy, the thing they all have in common is obvious. 
They completely satisfy aural wishes excited during the day which remain unrealized. They are simply and undisguisedly realizations of wishes.

Screeching sirens had woken her in the middle of the night, and now she sat perched at the window peering nosily out of her curtains. The street below had been cordoned off with thick tape and a white tent had been set up a little further down the path. She couldn't make out exactly what was going on amongst the sea of uniformed men and haze of blue and red flashing lights, but she knew it wasn't good. It wasn't good at all.

Athens-based producer Anatolian Weapons has been churning out the releases thick and fast, the next of which lands on Milanese imprint Marguerite Records. Marking the 9th release on the label, following a series of V/A releases and an instalment from Raw Ambassador and Antonio, the three originals on Blood On The Pavement are inspired by an imagined, distorted crime scene. Navigating industrial and EBM, from a trippy 303 workout to a stripped down version, backed up on the flip by two reworks from Nashville artist Daniel Holt.

Basculant l'exercice du long format du côté de la recherche expérimentale bien plus que de la narration, l'objet nommé « R.S.F » est une collection d'images sonores intrigantes. Les tracks ne  commencent ni ne finissent vraiment, pièces d'un puzzle éclaté sans résolution apparente, se déroulant comme autant de pages d'un bestiaire fantastique oublié. Car il est question de variations formelles, de palette stylistique vaste, où l'exploration est à la fois impulsion et finalité jamais atteinte, en accord avec la volonté du collectif Meth.O.Tapes. Chaque créature sonore résonne de bribes imaginaires tantôt majestueuses, tantôt terribles, tantôt naïves, parfois mystiques, parfois naturalistes, plus oniriques qu'exotiques, toujours évocatrices. Un curieux objet musical, un objet poétique comme voulu par le collectif, car objet il y a, recueilli sous format cassette et coffret, forme-sens d'une boîte de Pandore aux mille et un mystères."
