A recoup and second recovered part of my DJ + my live vocal set @ Pacha Ibiza for the Elements Funky room back in 2019.

With luck I was able to find again and restore some distortion on the set. 

A very blissful night this was where in my first DJ year I felt like the whole universe was gifting me with this big opportunity.

We are arriving at Explorations number 27 and our conductor for this trip will be the spellbinding FACETTES (AKA Sofiane Tib).

Sofiane has loved to dance since a young age. It’s this body language that led him to electronic music. 

A house filled with, Madonna, Depeche Mode, Pink Floyd, Eurythmics, resulted in a love of synthesizers. The dreamy emotive world that these machines created on seminal music were being soaked up by a young boy destined for big things. 
Living in France on the doorstep of a thriving rave scene, 15-year-old Sofiane was hearing the sound of the underground echoing across Europe. Listening to countless radio shows and mixes resulted in him trying to mix tunes on a cheap turntable and a cd player with no pitch control. His friends and peers on their own journey were discovering sample culture and beat making. 
Sofiane was listening, taking notes, and starting on his quest to become a DJ. 
Taking inspiration from the likes of James Murphy (LCD Sound System), Yasmine Hamdan, Satori, Dixon, Raw Main, Sainte Vie, Squire, Behrouz, Ali Farahani, Bedouin, WhomadeWho, Kollektiv Turmstrasse, Jonas Rathsman. and influenced by Arabic, Spanish and African music. Sofiane weaves these tapestries into his sets and productions creating a heart-swelling, hip-swinging soundtrack to pulsing dancefloors. 
The Facettes experience is constantly pushing boundaries, incorporating live instrumentation into his productions and live sets. A percussionist, Keyboardist, or a Cielo player is not an unusual site while Sofiane lays down his melodic groove on the turntables. 
In his own words. I am searching for goosebumps! If I don’t get them while I am creating a playlist, there is no point in playing! I listen to a lot of music, new and old releases, mixes, labels, and upcoming artists. I am looking for obscure tracks that bring spirituality and emotion to envelope the audience on the dancefloor. I am after music that not many DJs play, and being the first one to share is really important for me to keep it interesting. I am into the challenge of playing melodic music that has several layers at any time of the night. I think we don’t have enough events where we can listen to music that transports you and give you emotion! During my set. I try to have a certain progression, I create waves with tension and release to surprise the audience, I am not only using middle eastern atmospheres, but I also build my set with dark techno, hypnotic vocals, and afro elements to create a complex mix with multiple layers. 
I have been in the scene for a while, so I am after delivering the best mix that I can for each performance. One of my close friends said to me, you are sometimes competing with yourself! I have to create a journey that people can remember! I feel so much pressure each time as I have to do as well or better than the last time with a new original set. It’s hard work but if you have the right sensibility and artistic skills, you can connect and transport the audience with music that they have never heard before.

For LO-FI I wanted to record a different mix compared to what I play at a festival, it’s a set that you can listen to any time of the day! It offers lots of messages with a melancholic atmosphere that reflects what some of the Middle Eastern countries have gone through. There is lots of emotion and sadness with ethereal music from Portugal, Spain, Algeria, Greece, Turkey, Armenia, Ukraine, Israel, and more. 

Here at LO-FI, we agree, the results are exceptional. This has been one we have been looking forward to sharing with you and it is a pleasure to welcome FACETTES to the LO-FI family.

AZULIK Sunset, Tulum - "Luna en Escorpio"

The cultured Sounds of Khemit returns with another various artists EP that takes us deep into their mystic house world.
As per all Sounds of Khemit releases, this one is based on an ancient concept. They explain, "Hathor, or as the hieroglyphs read Hat-Hoor, is known as “Lady of Stars.” She represented music, arts, dance, joy, love, sexuality, fertility and maternal care and is an important principle in Sounds of Khemit who nourishes with her divine light and the energy that surrounds us at all future gatherings."
Valentín Huedo is a son of Ibiza and an award-winning artist who has released his organic sounds on All Day I Dream. His fantastic 'Egyptian Affair' is a deep and pulsing techno roller that locks you into a meditative state. The mysterious synth modulations and balmy pads bring scale and spiritualism and ensure maximum heady impact in the club.
Next comes Sydka who has landed on the likes of MONADA, Kamai Music and Lump Records. 'Soul Intrigue' is a deep house tune that lolls on heavy, rolling kick drums. Shamanistic wind sounds, tambourine tickles and glitchy hits bring a tribal tinge to this subversive dance floor summons.
Last of all is Underyourskin Records' Berlin-based house and techno live-band Kyongpaul fronted by jazz-drummer Hannes Dunker. Their 'Somebody' is another dubbed out and shuffling deep house cut with plenty of wide-open synth craft and mystic leads that take you down a psyched-out rabbit hole.
These are magical sounds that pair futuristic designs with a sense of ancient dance music ritual.

Our first recorded B2B set with lots of Love. We started in the middle of the day with no audience and closed with a full stage at Le Petit Paris Camp. Maliha poem is written by Meskin Al-Derami from Iraq.

Maliha in Arabic means the beautiful woman who was wearing a black veil and seduced the hermit poet with her beauty.

At that time no woman wore a black veil and this seller was trying to sell those black veils but it wasn’t selling, so he came to the hermit poet and asked him for help. The poet decided to write a poem about that so he can help him to sell.

The next day all black veils were sold out by women in town after they heard the poem and that black veil seduced even the hermit.

Like many others I'm adjusting to this new way of life, a life with restrictions and without dance floors (at least that's the case here in Ibiza) I created this set as a journey where I wanted to capture the mood of island which is different this year but still in flow.

The set starts slow, something you can put on by a poolside gathering and builds with energy to remind there’s still good times to be found celebrating with friends and family; the set then comes to a close with a gentle delicate ending. It’s all about finding new rhythms and specifically the island’s new rhythm <3
