First Circle: A Mix

This project began as a collaborative sound art commission for Dublin Digital Radio titled Tirdreacha/Krajobrazy/Landschaften/مناظر الطبیعة in collaboration with Tom O'Dea and participants based in Berlin, Warsaw and Bethlehem. These songs were composed from found sounds recorded on ferries across the Irish and Atlantic Seas, with lyrics and vocal arrangements developed and written over a series of shows in Dublin, Berlin and Lisbon. Spoken word adapted from Kate Chopin's novel 'The Awakening'.

Flashing Horizons is the new mix series by snufkin (@dj-snufkin), hosted by Stegi Radio Athens. The alter ego snufkin was created by artist, curator and self-proclaimed ‘organiser’, Pim Sem Benjamin. As driving force behind the platform Valley, curator for Sonic Acts and Audio Visual Arts BA, his relation to sound is a profound one. For every edition snufkin will invite an artist that has served them as an inspiration to share the 60 minute slot with. It's a mix for discovery. I like the idea that the different cross sections these artists represent can intersect through me. It's moody. It's atmospheric. It's dark at times but it's fun too. Melancholic but a little manic. It's me in a mix in Summer 2024. True Romance FTW.”
