Fluorine is a non-metal and has 9 as an atomic number. It's weight is 18.9984032.  "Fluorine" is of Latin origin. "Fluere" means "flow". Fluorine is usually a gas at room temperature. It's color is pale yellow and reacts to most organic (Carbon) and inorganic (non-carbon) substances. Fluorine is the most reactive of the non-metals because of it's valence electron's number, which is 7. Other elements with 7 of the valence electrons are called Halogens.  Fluorine has been studied as a rocket propellant, since it has very high impulse value.
