Fast rising Israeli producer, OMRI., returns to Disco Halal with his debut EP ‘My Name Is Omri Dot’. Across four tracks the artist showcases his unique, psychedelic sound that proves just why he’s one of Tel Aviv’s hottest exports right now. Spanning left-field house, indie-dance, and breakbeat, the artist takes us on a sonic journey across his homeland, opening our eyes to the endless possibilities of dance music. For the label, the EP reflects an exotic sound reminiscent of some of our early pioneers– Moscoman, Red Axes, Simple Symmetry – and for emerging, fearless, pioneering talents like OMRI. Disco Halal is the perfect home to explore their artistry with a truly open-minded approach.

OMRI. represents a vibrant new generation of musicians emerging out of Tel Aviv, channelling the city's renowned freedom of expression, creating dance music free of the status quo, void of any expectation. It’s an approach heard perfectly on this EP, whether it be via the relentless warped groove of ‘Snakes In The Bed’, the artists futuristic take on breakbeat, with a dubstep esque twist on ‘The Spotlight’, or the evocative, mind numbing vocals on ‘The Great Illusion’, the artist never fails to surprise, consistently veering in new directions.

As far as debut EP’s go, ‘My Name Is Omri Dot’ is a true statement of intent from the artist. Now ready to take his Middle Eastern sound across the globe, these four tracks simply represent the beginning of an exciting journey for OMRI. We are more than happy to present the debut release of AckerMan, a new member in the camels family.
Ackerman is a long experienced producer that for over a decade has been working on his progressive psytrance projects: Mr What, MUTe and more. 
Now, with his AckerMan project, he focuses on music with a fresh style, groovy rhythms, and deep acidic flavour.  
The EP contains two original tracks, 'Kol Ma She Sameach' with vocals by the legendary Gilad Kahana (Lead singer of the band “Girafot"). The second track, 'Express Shell Hazot' is a cooperation between Ackerman and the talented guitar player Dori Aharon.
  
Additionally, the EP also includes 2 remixes by two of Tel Aviv's finest electronic underground producers - Niv Ast and Eliezer

Exclusive: Omri Smadar  - Dub Shell Dmaot (feat. Tractor's Revenge)

After his Fragile EP on Correspondant earlier this year Tel Aviv-based artist Omri Smadar is back with a five tracker on Blue Shadow. With En Safak the artist dives deep into his upbringing, explores and re-experiences that time (again) as he delivers those for him typically psychadelic dancefloor takes with reference to artists and music from his childhood days. Dub Shell Dmaot goes back to Tractor's Revenge's track Game Of Tears, which was first released back in 1990. The Dub Shell approach though omits the vocals though and fnearly ocuses on the dark and disco-ish vibe  only turning the track into a truly club-esque experience as the listener is picked up by those echoing robotic vocal snippets creating a surreal world in one's mind, you can only endure when feeling the sweat dripping from the ceiling in an underground club.

Omri Smadar's EP En Safak will be released on Blue Shadow on July 17th, 2020.

EXCLUSIVE: Omri Smadar  - Dub Shell Dmaot (feat. Tractor's Revenge) [Blue Shadow]

Blue Shadow welcomes rising star producer Omri Smadar to the family, with his 5 track stunning debut EP "En Safek".

Smadar dives deep into his own upbringing, delivering a unique psychedelic dancefloor interpretations to his childhood heroes, Tel Aviv's Indie Rock staples Fortis & Tractor's Revenge.

"En Safek She" (There's No Doubt That) alludes to the apocalyptic "Sunrise Falling" by local legend Fortis. Back in 1988, the Israeli punk pioneer wrote about the Hiroshima bombing, describing a happy world disrupted by a mushroom-shaped cloud. Omri's production stays crucial with the original sense of urgency, repeating the Hebrew chorus lyrics which act as a deadly double entendre.

"Dmaot" (Tears) is based on "Game Of Tears", by Tractor's Revenge. Omri's take pays tribute to the haunting signature song of the band from 1990, keeping the lyrics paced with his own psychedelic dark disco vision. Like the Fortis classic, Omri remarkably succeeding to maintain the surreal vibe of the original song, while elegantly adapting it to dancefloor territory.

Each En safek & Dmaot won a bonafide banger treatment with two stripped down dub versions, shaping them to suit any club voyage, while the latter also received a trippy atmosphere worthy remix by the talented Mexican born and Calypso label-boss Inigo Vontier.
