Storming into 2022 with a flurry of high-octane remixed from a stellar array of artists, Anfisa Letyago continues to solidify her position as one of techno’s most talked about names. An intrepid selector with a positive attitude regarding all things art and dancefloor related, she’s been making seismic waves within the industry for a few years. Letyago launched her own imprint - N:S:DA last year, originally a celebration of her own dark-brooding style of techno, the label has entered a metamorphosis of sorts, welcoming in a host of established producers to remix the labels first two remix EP’s.

The Italian-born, multi-faceted DJ Tennis steps into the arena with his unique take on the original mix of “Nisida”. Elegant pads flourish through the mix, carrying listeners weightlessly into warping basslines and razor-sharp drum work. The droning synths seem to induce hypnosis, circling and swaying around the driving kick and scattered hi-hats. A production powerhouse since the early nineties, DJ Tennis continues to juggle event promotion, running a label and booking agency. A hugely talented all-rounder.

In the midst of a meteoric rise and a riding high of her recent release on Pig & Dan’s Elevate imprint, Amelie Lens returns home to Second State with an absolutely stellar three tracker delivering her signature sound of sultry vocals, cryptic atmospheres and massive drums. The ‘Contradiction’ EP kicks off with the title track of the same name with an enormous kick drum as fragments of Amelie’s lush vocals introduce a fever inducing acid line culminating in a rugged yet profoundly energetic tune, proving that less is truly more. ‘Drift’ follows suit and once again proves that Amelie’s minimalist approach has massive results. By utilizing a few powerful elements, ‘Drift’ dives into the heavy ethereal creating the perfect balance between tension and serenity. Wrapping up the release Lens delivers the most psychedelic cut of the EP with ‘Resonance’. Another masterpiece in the minimal approach, Amelie utilizes a simple shimmering synth as the vehicle in which to traverse a dark world of intense percussive sonics. Get ready to take a journey. Dutch-Caribbean stars Shermanology debut on Hot Creations with the tremendous three-track Bon Bini EP. The release continues an outstanding 2020 for the brother-sister pairing, which has seen them collaborate with The Martinez Brothers already this year.

The title track, Bon Bini, kicks off proceedings in a no-nonsense fashion, as a pumping lead kick merges with latin-inspired vocal cuts. The lengthy breakdown builds a party atmosphere, as rustling hats provide an up-tempo feel. OK - Cool - Aight feat. ConQuer Jones comes next, with its uplifting piano rolls and wonderful vocal solo courtesy of the lead vocalist who tells us to “make the best of what life has to offer.” Breathe feat. Agent Sasco rounds off the EP. A straight-up club cut, the kick-hat blend is irresistibly danceable, building on an underlying bassline that features Agent Sasco’s whispering lyrics underneath.

Hailing from the beautiful Dutch-Carribean island of Curacao, brother-and-sister duo Shermanology have become one of electronic music’s most well-loved and well-known pairings releasing on the likes of Defected and Dirtybird. This year marked a pivotal milestone in their career as they collaborated with The Martinez Brothers on the incredible Bam Bam. Add to this their soon-to-be-released debut on Hot Creations and it is safe to say Shermanology will be making heads turn, and feet move, for years to come.
