We're gassed to welcome Gibbin back to Gimme A Break following the release of his tune 'Slugworth' on our 'From GAB With Love Vol.1' VA. Since then he has released on Taipan Tracks and appears to show no signs of slowing down if this Giggs edit is anything to go by.

Wray & Ting (JBDUBZ Vol. 9)

Paris-based duo Alex H. and Adrian C ended last year on a high with ‘Journey’, a super stylish new album on Kindisch in December. It was full of deep, spiritual, emotional sounds and is now followed up with a trio of top singles. Between this pair they have studied filmmaking in NYC and violin and piano at the Conservatory of Paris and travel the world picking up disparate influences and inspiration from nature. All of that infuses this first richly detailed new cut.

'Mi Pena' is a gloriously lush house tune lit up with sensuous synth strings. They bring a sense of class as the drums roll deep and vocals slowly emerge to bring the soul. It's a track that will ignite cosy crowds and intimate dance floors with its mix of elastic groove and heart warming atmosphere.

This single is the start of another standout year for Birds of Mind.

Title track "Land Of Confusion" brings a well sustained bassline across the driving rhythmic foundation while pads and intermittent keys add depth to a hypnotic framework,creating a perfect combination of melody, rhythm and bass providing a club-friendly track. 

Brazilian top producer Luciano Scheffer returns to Transensations delivering a powerful remix, adding his sound signature creating a deeper and introspective ambience to the track.

Next is "Santa Marta" ,a stunning Progressive delight , with emotional and soothing atmospheric tones and melodic synths touched with superb Percussive Elements.

Closing the EP 'Makarena' continues the progressive tone set with a mid-set style vibe, a mysterious and mystical feeling plus a fluid groove moving through rolling contours and rhythmic pulses, creating a distinct astral quality track to the dancefloor.

We would like to think we have served up plenty of special treats in our podcast series so far, but this latest one is certainly one that many people will get very excited about. It is not often that Detroit key-figures step out and offer us a window into their current musical world, but that is what we have here from Sherard Ingram aka DJ Stingray. Famed for many reasons—not least for always DJing in a black balaclava—he is founder of the Urban Tribe super group with KDJ, C2 and Shake, was DJ for the legendary electro outfit Drexcyia and is also a fierce DJ and producer in his own right. He came up playing tough techno and electro in hardcore motorcycle clubs in the D, but is now a regular in the world’s finest underground spaces, where he pushes a dark, intense sound that is socially and politically charged. Shades of Miami bass and ghetto tech also characterise his work on labels like Shipwreck, Bleep43, [NakedLunch] and Unknown to the Unknown, and in 2016 he is as busy and prolific as he has ever been. This summer he plays a rather exclusive back to back set with Helena Hauff at our festival in Amsterdam. 

The mix he serves up is a great snapshot of what Stingray does - forces you to dance to his high tempo, high impact sounds. He mixes them quickly and slickly and there is a real sense of urban paranoia and future menace in every tune he reaches for. Sit back, then, and bask in the glory of a real master.
