Originally featured on Yotto’s debut album ‘Hyperfall’, ’Turn It Around’ now gets its own single release featuring an extended mix and two outstanding remixes courtesy of German artists Monkey Safari and Ruede Hagelstein.

Monkey Safari add their trademark sunshine sheen to ’Turn It Around’, flipping the dark soundscape of the original into an uplifting composition of sliding synths and bubbly arpeggios. Berlin producer Ruede Hagelstein builds on Yotto’s original brooding arrangement with his 'Rise Again' remix, incorporating mechanised vocoders atop a menacing bassline.

The rapidly thriving onedotsixtwo label launches its 2020 campaign with yet another essential release, this time from the multitasking main man himself, Tripswitch, who has masterminded an incredible refreshing of his classic ‘Box Fresh’ track, having enlisted the studio skills of Emi Galván, Forerunners and Nicolas Rada, alongside him on remix duty.

“‘Box Fresh’ was a really significant track for me when it first came out on the ‘Propulsion EP’ in 2014. It was one of the first progressive tracks I wrote where I felt I’d successfully struck the right formula between my own production style, which was more rooted in epic, euphoric chillout, and an up-to-date progressive house sound.” - Tripswitch

The original track’s significance (represented by the 2020 Remaster in this new package) grew exponentially when it became one of the first Tripswitch tracks (after his remix of Seamless ‘Castle In the Sky’ on Section Records) that Nick Warren and Hernan Cattaneo really hammered in their sets and was thus pivotal in establishing Tripswitch on the progressive path, ultimately leading to the birth of onedotsixtwo. 

With an ethos to seek out and feature the finest world-class talent within the underground progressive house scene, Tripswitch has teamed up with rising Argentinian superstar Nicolas Rada (who is making a huge impression on the scene right now) to open proceedings. This creative dream team’s ability to tease out the essential original mind-blowing beauty of ‘Box Fresh’ with their deeply delicious 2020 ReFresh is quite astonishing. By composing a magnificently subtle, tantalizing, soaring, new melodic masterpiece, they set the stage perfectly for this truly outstanding remix package.

Another Buenos Aires resident, the exceptionally multi-talented Emi Galván, brings his own unique vision to ‘Box Fresh’. Emi has earned a reputation as a kind of crown prince of uplifting electronic music and here he injects his infectious blend of bounce and funk to proceedings to launch the track to a higher level of energetic abandonment, juxtaposing irresistible melodic hooks with euphoric percussive flourishes to create an absolutely monstrous dancefloor experience. Emi’s remix has already been cited by Nick Warren as one of the biggest tracks of his DJ sets.

Arizona USA’s Brenden LaBonte (aka Forerunners) makes a welcome return to onedotsixtwo with his outstanding remix. A sophisticated interwoven blend of skippy percussion, meandering bassline groove and lush layers of hypnotic melody, create a marvellous drifting sea of tranquil beauty. Back again after the monstrous Amelthea’s Horn EPs back in 2018 is Alex O’Rion with an exceptional 4-track EP.    

After a strong year of releases on Hope, Replug, ICONYC and more, Alex returns to Sudbeat with ‘Alone’. The lead track is a strong tribal progger with his incredible sound design and attention to detail. Building a head of steam over the opening section, the break is like an oasis from the storm, drawing you deeper into Alex’ web.   

‘Mastadon’ takes off from where ‘Alone’ ends. Punchier drums and a more insistent melodic core drive the track forward, opening the listener up to all manner of mental visuals. The dub mix of ‘Mastadon’ is an altogether different beast. Darker, deeper and more devastating. The bassline leads the way, grinding out a well worn path from the waist down. Finally, ‘With You’ offers some light relief with upbeat drums, uplifting pads and playful melodics.

After a standout turn on Nick Warren’s Balance compilation, Brazil’s RIGOONI makes his debut on The Soundgarden with a stellar four-track EP, ‘Serenade’. The collection kicks off with ‘A Blue Rose For Daniele’ – and, if it’s a gorgeous slice of Melodic House & Techno you’re after, then you’ve come to the right place. It’s a deep and grooving slow burner with a shuffling beat and scattered vocal samples and you’re going to absolutely adore it.
Next up comes the EP’s title track, ‘Serenade’, and it brings with it a set of thudding kick drums and a subtly catchy synth refrain. ‘Eudaimonia’ follows on; it’s a more bass-driven affair than its predecessor and will be perfect for some mid-set magic on dancefloors around the world.
Closing off the set is ‘August Tears’, and it’s a minor-key masterpiece that comes armed with another uber-catchy synth refrain and enough energy to power a small country. It’s a glorious end to a spectacular collection.'

Humankind’s affinity for sound predates recorded history. This “Primal Connection” manifests in the form of music! Bearing the same title, Particles’ next release welcomes back David Leckenby. As a recent roster addition, he delivered the chart-topping “Stardust” in August 2019. Fellow Australians, GMJ & Matter, once again feature prominently with a remix. Cid Inc's Replug Records begins the new year by welcoming DJ Zombi to the label for his debut single. Based in Tel Aviv, the Israeli artist has been a fixture of the electronic underground for over a decade. Whether operating as one half of the famed crossover act Weekend Heroes, or under his solo moniker of DJ Zombi, Eli Baltsan is well travelled, having curated music for the world's premiere festivals and trendiest venues. With a renewed focus on his solo productions in recent years, DJ Zombi has found a home on Guy J's Armadillo Records, Guy Mantzur's Plattenbank Records, Beatfreak Recordings, Chapter 24 and his own Beat Boutique imprint. Now making his much anticipated Replug debut, DJ Zombi presents ‘Octopus' alongside a remix from Cid Inc & Orsen. 

DJ Zombi is an artist who has worn many stylistic hats over the last two years, compiling a discography that features a clever amalgamation of genres. With ‘Octopus' he takes a deeper more melodic approach, one which has already been winning over crowds during his sets in recent months. Anchored by a warm, full bodied groove, its rhythmic core comes up quickly, with layers of exotic drums carrying a buoyant cadence. Subtle shades and hopeful tones coverage as the narrative evolves, before rising atmospheres and radiant chord stabs unite during a grandiose break. Tense yet exhilarating, a drummy build marries waves of white noise during a colossal crescendo, as the groove drops for an emotive, arp driven finale.

Rounding out the release and providing the lone interpretation of ‘Octopus' is Cid Inc & Orsen. Based in Finland and Austria respectively, 2019 proved to be a fruitful year for both artists. Henri Hurtig aka Cid Inc. once again delivered one of progressive music's finest moments with the March release of ‘Via Karelia'. Similarly, Dan Baseley aka Orsen won the hearts of the genre's tastemakers with the November offering ‘Falling In'. Having commemorated the label's ten-year anniversary with their first ever joint production in October, Cid Inc and Orsen now build on that creative synergy with an inspired take on ‘Octopus'. The duo expands on the smooth, emotive qualities of the original with a tougher more peak time approach. Possessing a dramatic undercurrent, it's punchy kicks and fiery percussion create waves of energy as the first act evolves. The main arp adds nicely to it's hypnotic drive, gradually opening up against a backdrop of hopeful pads, as the breakdown reaches a euphoric peak, before shifting energy into a smooth yet exhilarating conclusion. A gorgeous rendition from the Replug bosses which caps off a hugely successful label debut from DJ Zombi.
