Summertime is one of my all time favorite songs. It's comforting and haunting, a mixture I thoroughly enjoy in the arts. I learned the piano to this song for a vocal student I was working with and ended up recording this suuuuper LoFi track on my creepy and magnificent piano at Purple Door Studios in Seattle. They'd probably hate that I say I did it there cause the recording is so raw.. with a nice buzzzz the whole time but I just wanted to f*ck around on my piano to my favorite song. I dropped by the studio the day I left to meet Watsky for the first time and leave for Warped Tour all summer. I left the studio and went straight to the airport lol Over the last year I keep coming back and geeking out on the little vocal trance I got into towards the end.. to me the song gets good at about 2:20 ;) I've personally come to like the hum a lot, feels like ambiance..  Ya'll know that I like catching those magic synergistic moments whenever I can. Imperfect specifics with perfect energy.. I love the way this take turned out lol it's dusty as hell but when I listen to it I kinda space out, so I figured I'd share it and offer you the same opportunity ;) to trance out with me, in the name of gratitude <3 cause that's what the song is saying.. to me anyway. 

I added a little harmony in the van last night (Watsky's Meaner then the Average Tour) to cover a vocal mistake then just started playing around lol so there's some hidden harmony surprises..  I tried to mix the hum as much as I could for a little Logic Pro practice.. so don't judge this shit, I'm still learning <3 Self taught biatch!! Hope you enjoy <3

Hold On

Art in it's most expressive form is my favorite. I write music and poetry, sing and paint as a way of expressing experiences or observations. #Love #Life

The magic that I find in creative outlets, is that sometimes I'm not aware of what is being conceived until it's finished. 

I have performed for numerous years primarily in Seattle, Wa. From 2004-2012 I was a soloist with the Total Experience Gospel Choir. While in the choir I also performed in Black Nativity from 2007-2011, first at Intiman Theatre then at The Moore Theatre. The songs I was most known for while with the choir were 'His Eye Is On The Sparrow' and 'Ave Maria.'

Around the same time (2004-2005) I was introduced to Ricky Pharoe and Tru-ID, two local rappers who found my music on myspace and inquired about my singing. Macklemore was helping with their project and that was my introduction to that guy ;) Years later I'm singin' back ups and helping work out vocal arrangements on what becomes a NUMBER 1 album - The Heist - and my best friend Ray Dalton (featured on 'Whisper') has a hook on a platinum song called 'Can't Hold Us.' Needless to say I am so blessed and grateful to be a part of that magic as it's unfolded over the last year (((♥))) 

Besides working with Macklemore, Ryan Lewis and Ray Dalton, I've also featured with Theoretics, Nu Era, KnowMads

My album "Acoustic Originals" (released in 2012) is a compilation of pieces I've written and recorded over the past ten years. They are my personal favorites. This album is very raw and I look at it like an opportunity for people to hear my music in its most naked and organic form, the conception of ideas to be molded. I've been so blessed to have a community of love, talented people and heavenly support. I have two dear friends featuring on the album, an extremely talented vocalist named Ray Dalton, as well as a young man with a glorious future ahead of him named Joseph Comin feature on guitar. All in all this CD is the rawest most honest reflection of my experiences in life and working through what they have taught me.
