Maula x Madan opens my debut EP Welcome to Desi House. It’s a fusion of two sacred worlds that have always moved me deeply: Maula Mere Maula, a Hindi–Sufi classic that speaks to divine love and surrender, and Madan by the legendary Salif Keita, whose groove and soul have inspired dance floors around the world.
“Maula” in Arabic and Urdu means protector, lord, or master. To me, it’s a word of devotion and trust. I’ve always believed music is a form of prayer—it heals, it uplifts, it brings us closer to something higher. With this track, I wanted to bring that essence into a house setting, to merge spirit with pulse and devotion with rhythm.
I perform both vocal parts, weaving between the original melodies and my own phrasing to create what I call a Divine Desi House Anthem—a hypnotic, soulful blend of energy, emotion, and transcendence. The production also carries my love for Indian percussion, specifically Tabla and Dholak, grounding the track in a heartbeat that feels both familiar and timeless. Welcome to Desi House is a love letter to the sounds that shaped me, a reimagining of the house and electronic anthems that gave me my pulse, infused with my Indian roots and spiritual journey. These songs taught me what it means to feel electronic music—how groove, vocals, and soul can carry you through anything. This project is my way of returning to that feeling, through my own voice, my roots, and my spirit.

Biography: 
Lonerist is Greg Mungin, a Scottish DJ and producer who draws inspiration from the emotive depth of Detroit techno and the atmospheric nuances of dub. He's been DJ’ing for over 30 years, moving fluidly through house, techno, electro, hip-hop, and funk, but now focuses on dub techno and deep electronic soundscapes. His tracks and DJ sets are deep, emotive, and hypnotic and aim for headphone listening as much as warehouse dancing. He's released on respected labels such as Verdant Recordings, insectorama and Crossfade Sounds to name a few. 

Coming soon, next week, we'll be releasing a brand new track called "The Ob," part of the Mountain Altai VA: Katun River. Dub Techno Star Collection, Vol. 2 compilation, dedicated to the [PIRANHA SIBERIA DUB] label's birthday.
