A Gift

I am a 26 year old composer born and bred in Glasgow.

In 2008 I began studying composition under Gareth Williams at the RSAMD Youthworks, and later that year I entered and subsequently won the Cathcart Young Composer Award. This led to a performance by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in the Royal Albert Hall in London as part of the Spring Proms. In October that year I began my Bachelor of Music in Composition at the RSAMD with Gareth Williams. I have since then studied under Gordon McPherson, Rory Boyle, David Fennessy, Drew Hammond and Colin Broom.

I have experience in writing music for many varying mediums including film, dance, concert space and electronics. I have experience writing music for solo instruments to full symphony orchestra and occasionally electro-acoustic music. I am comfortable working with most studio software and sound processing software, and in addition to writing classical music I enjoy writing everything from electronic music to jazz to pop to electronic jazz-pop.
