Perreo En Los Raves is a late summer Reggaeton Techno floor filler from one of the best hard techno producers currently working alongside a classic Max Watts highway 909 techno workout (our third remix from one of our favorite techno producers in the US right now).

A note from Xiorro...

Perreo Hasta Los Raves is a sample-heavy broken beat techno track fused with Reggaeton’s iconic Dembow. Puerto Rico was rocked by Reggaeton’s underground in the 90s with producers like DJ Playero paving the way for a genre that no one ever imagined would be heard worldwide the way it is. With its gritty beats and raunchy lyrics, the genre was once illegal on the island, which helped push it further underground due to it being painted for “the streets”.

The track and artwork are not only meant to pay homage to those that once sonically moved our asses at our friend’s basement parties, but also meant to help introduce it to a new audience, so that they can also experience the Latin sensation. Simply put, this is a track meant to turn out all Reggaeton lovers at the rave and to convert those who were not aware of its banging drums.

Whats The T w/ MLE: 24th June '25

Part three of RA.999: a celebration of soulful footwork and the timeless influence of DJ Rashad.

As we gear up to celebrate the 1,000th episode, RA.999 lands with five mixes across five days. First up was 1morning and Regal86, then Prosumer and Peach. Today, we turn our eyes to Chicago, with two of footwork staples, DJ Spinn and Manny, taking the reins of the third installment of RA.999 (both make their RA Podcast debut).

Ten years ago, Teklife Records was founded, following the untimely death of DJ Rashad in 2014. His collaborators started the label to honor the Chicago-born producer’s musical genius and continue his legacy of soulful footwork. Its first release would be Afterlife, a compilation of unreleased Rashad material that, in the words of Pitchfork, "captured the spirit of familial connection and experimentation integral to the Teklife crew."

Listening to RA.999, it doesn't take long for any footwork fan to realise that this is an hour-long homage to Rashad's phenomenal discography. The first lyric we hear is "Throw your L's up for Rashad!" on "L's UP FOR RASHAD," and a string of Rashad classics follow, many of which Spinn and Manny collaborated on. It's a that reminder  you of not just how staggeringly talented Rashad was, but how central collaboration was, and still is, to the Teklife project

Although many of these songs are more than a decade old, not one song sounds out of place in 2025. This is an emotional, riveting listen documenting the work of the best to do it in footwork. Back then, Rashad was the future, and he still is.

Emily Hill AKA https://soundcloud.com/can_u_feel_ml3 is part of the team behind https://soundcloud.com/bradleyzero and https://soundcloud.com/internationalblack, keeping things ticking over at the labels and helping to curate their regular club nights. As a DJ and radio host she holds down residencies on South London’s Balamii and Noods in Bristol, and can also be found working behind the counter at Soho vinyl institution, Sounds of the Universe.

With this mix we get a small insight into her love of weird party bangers and her natural ability to get a party started. With talent and dedication in abundance, her growth as an artist and selector show no signs of stopping anytime soon. Catch her alongside other DJ Directory crew at this year's festival as part of the last dance in Fort Punta Christo.

London-based DJ MLE has an intiuitive and inquisitive nature that's well beyond her years. Through her DJ sets and radio shows, formerly on Balamii and now on Worldwide FM and Noods, she has been navigating the darker experimental corners of dance music, from coldwave and electro to deconstructed club music and experimental pop edits. 

By day you can find her behind the counter at one of Soho's leading record shops, Sounds Of The Universe, and as a longtime member of the Rhythm Section team she helps to steer their sister label International Black.

We invited her on board for a mix that sees her connects the dots between broken club rhythms, acid, electro and bass...
