This is a rough recording of my acoustic cover of a song written and performed by Demon Hunter, entitled "Carry Me Down."  It's always been one of my favorites by them, and it hit me the other day that I could possibly work out an acoustic version of this song.  Enjoy!
P. S. This was all recorded using an iPhone and a laptop.  Before you know it, I'll be using dial-up...

I'm a little ashamed of myself, but, hey, you guys asked for it... LoL  For years, I've wanted to learn German.  Why?  I'm not really sure.  Just always have.  The other day, I was taking a German lesson, and accidentally read a phrase or two in my own real voice, with the county/redneck accent slightly exaggerated.  I could not stop laughing.  I told some people about it, and they asked to hear it.  So, here you go...

In English:
My name is Candace.  Today I am speaking German, but in my native accent.
I am a woman of twenty seven years old, and have been learning German off and on for many years.  
I have a cat, and a dog, and a husband with whom I have been joined for almost seven years.  His name is Shane.  He is a good cook, who makes great coffee, and spends more time in the kitchen than I do.  I like to sing, and play music, and sometimes I read books.  Thank you for listening!

In German:
Mein Name ist Candace. Heute spreche ich Deutsch, aber in meinem Heimatakzent . 
Ich bin eine Frau von 27 Jahre alt, und haben sich, Deutsch zu lernen aus-und für viele Jahre. 
Ich habe eine Katze und einen Hund, und ein Mann, mit dem ich seit fast sieben Jahren verbunden worden. Sein Name ist Shane. Er ist ein guter Koch, der guten Kaffee macht, und verbringt mehr Zeit in der Küche als ich. Ich mag zu singen, und spielen Musik, und manchmal Bücher, die ich gelesen. I'll admit that my voice is a little, well, "innocent" for a song as deep as this one, but, I enjoyed learning and performing this song nonetheless.  It's nothing short of an iconic song, so I don't dare presume that I did well with this - but something tells me cousin John wouldn't have hated it.  :)

My father asked me to learn this song to sing at church in the near future.  It's not a perfect recording, but, I really like this song, and it didn't take long to record it (which is probably why it's imperfect LoL).

I have found myself drowning in the upsets of my adult years at times, but God blessed me with this wonderful man, and if I have him, I have need for little else. If you have ever met Donna Cash, then you know that she is a beautiful soul, inside and out.  I could not have asked God for a more perfect mother.  She cares for her children, even while we're all grown and most have families of their own.  Donna is kind, and gentle, but also knows how to laugh and joke like your nerdiest friend.  I am grateful to have been raised by this godsend of a woman who has only served to improve the Cash family since she told my father "I do."  Daily she is a reminder of what a godly wife and mother is supposed to look like, and I will be indebted to her long after even I am gone.
I love you, Momma.  This one is for you.
