A headline clash between two Clarisse titans, Mendo goes head to head with Techin, the Sao Paulo producer who has already made his mark on the label with ‘Doux Jazzy’ on Clarisse volume 7, and last year’s ‘Lola’ EP alongside Cahio. Mendo of course continues to roam the globe as one of the best in the business, serving his imprint in 2023 with a remix of ‘La Krika’ and teaming with Roxy Delgado, and Mene & Any Loida.

'Soul 2 Soul' is a thick cut of deep house where bass and drum dominate and direct you. Melody is marked by plinks of piano and synth fizzes passing through on the back of villainous vocal samples: hinting at an action-crazed drop, Mendo and Techin tell the world they shall not be moved. Keeping the bongo-topped beats strong and strapped with crowd-carrying muscle, this isn't one for those late to the party.

'Rock Rock' appears comparatively lighter and bouncier, the loop of its slurpy bassline chasing itself until dizzy, but mechanically hits the dancefloor with just as much hammer. Slurred and stammered vocals, telling the world to listen after one cocktail too many, wade through the vibe by tilting back and surfing the tempo, Mendo and Techin replacing the sparklers in your champagne bottles with rockets heading through the roof.

Since unveiling the iconic melodies of his 2009 anthem ‘Llovizna’ on Luciano’s Cadenza, Francisco Allendes hasgrown to become one of South America’s most loved musical exports. A true Ibiza mainstay, having re-located to the White Isle over a decade ago, holding his longstanding residency at ANTS and recognised via his 2019 award
for Best Ibiza DJ at the DJ Awards, the Chilean favourite has continued to impress with releases on Crosstown Rebels, Moon Harbour and Desolat across recent years. After re-connecting with his roots over the lockdown period before returning to Chile for an extensive tour and hosting workshops to help guide the next wave of Chilean artists, Allendes’ next project comes as a natural next step in the form of his first-ever label, Canibales. A new home for his own productions and to showcase music from across the globe, while also providing a future
platform for rising names from his home country, he opens 2023 with the label’s debut offering, ‘Pressure’.
“Opening a label has always been on my mind, but I didn’t want to push until every piece would fit together. That time has come. There’s a vision of the sound I want to showcase; percussive, futuristic, driving beats with a Latin flavour to them. I’ve got plenty of tunes from myself and new upcoming artists from South America and Europe to release across this first year of the label, which features some amazing artwork by my buddy Diego Robot from El Paso, Texas.
