It's insulting, what people say when ending things. In the realm of poetic, self-serving phrases that sting for weeks, months, years. 
"I'll remember you", spoken like I was a lesson, a tool, rather than a human being. It's happened more than once. I wrote this song last year after mulling that phrase over, and the result is here. It feels good to get it out, like a reminder to myself that I deserve to be treated like a whole person.
