The interstellar Canadian duo blasts off with their debut EP on Emerald & Doreen. A spaghetti-western dancefloor experience to shoot you through the Stratosphere.

It all begins with Launch. Leading the charge with a growling bass line, distorted guitars and a driving rhythm. Grip tight, you're in for a rocky ride!

The real test of the takeoff comes in with Escape Velocity. Sensory overload sets in with arps out of control, a bass line pushed to its limit, and drums that won't quit. All the while accompanied by a western guitar reminder of what they are leaving back on earth.

Jason Peters takes over for 2 renditions of Escape Velocity. The Psych remix maintains the overall experience of the original but in greater depth and detail. A definite attention grabber primed for the dance floor. The hypno mix brings forth a rolling percussive groove and pad progression that will have you feeling lost amongst the stars. Reach for the lasers on this one - Safe as fuck.

Curated by DJ Braver and Gabriel Ferreira, with impressive artwork by Cuernolobo and second to none mastering by Balam (SXDNS048), the 10th release of the Buenos Aires-based label Maleza delivers the fourth volume of their iconic compilation “En la Superficie”: Featuring ten tracks produced by ten different artists whose sonority expresses the characteristic universe of the Argentinian crew, the release encompasses many of the delicious facets of the high-quality Deep House with shards of Disco, Techno and Leftfield.

The track we chose to review was made with love by young & acclaimed Italian DJ/producer Vicky Montefusco. With praised works varying from originals to collaborations on vital labels such as Side Up Works, Dogs & Vultures, and Nein, this is Vicky’s second appearance on Maleza. His track brought the compilation to a perfect end: A stupor-infused theme that keeps you in a hypnotic state with its trippy combo of atmospheric pads and leads until it explodes in a frenzied rave-like synth outburst, a brief moment in which you will be allowed to deliver your body to random and uncoordinated movements before you go back to your trance mode. From numbness to euphoria and back to numbness, Vicky’s "Dear Melody" is definitely one of the highlights of the VA release.

A-Tweed tells us stories about Black Africa, New Orleans or Marrakech alleys, Istanbul or Palermo Markets, and about the endless paths that lead from Buenos Aires to the Colombian Pacific.

He released his first EP in May 2020 on Rotterdam Label Afrobotic Musicology. A conceptual body of work using afro-electronics fused with Celtic cultures, the 3 tracks dedicated to Scotland, Bretagne, and Galicia, respectively. The tracks were premiered by Le Mellotron, Les Yeux Orange and Midnight Orient.

Vicky Montefusco - The Flow And Poetry MASTER (FREE DL)

Ortac Genc is a Turkish Dj/Producer with very diverse and global inspirations. Currently, he is focusing on his new Indie Dance project Fat&Bald. His influences are mainly Dark Disco, Synth Wave, New Wave,  Italo Disco and Ebm. And how to leave Breakbeat and Leftfield aside?

He appeared on magnificent Berlin based label Ombra International March, 2020 and feeling the joy of releasing his first EP, Parallel Dimensions, with visionary UK based Nein Records. His first EP quickly reached Top 5 status in the Beatport Top 10 Releases charts. 

Music came to Ortac early in life where he started playing bass guitar and up-right bass. His love for the stage comes from connecting with live audiences as he played with various Rock bands for over a decade. He decided to combine his roots in Rock and Classical music with electronic music after his sound design training in New York City. This is why Fat&Bald can be easily distinguished by organic elements brought into the songs by silky guitars, hardware synthesizers and extraordinary fx's.

Ortac describes his creative process as closing his eyes to imagine himself on stage with a live band playing towards a crowd of electronic music lovers. Bringing two great worlds together. 

He recently collaborated with talented producers @gunceaci and @javiermartinezmx and worked on remixes for incredible producers like @backfromthewave, @gunceaci, @javier_busto, @from_beyond, and @funboys. He is looking forward to meet his fans and perform live in another club or festival soon.
