This mix was fun and a challenge without a doubt. I had to do a few things i normally don't do to achieve a proper balance. I used the old Haas method on the guitar, (duplicating the track, delaying the second one by 8-15 milliseconds to get a "wider" sound). The biggest challenge for me was getting the toms to stand out through the overheads. So what i did was created 2 tracks  with Steven Slates "Trigger" plugin. Then i cut out all the tom fills from the overheads seperating the 2 toms unto the 2 tracks to be sampled and blended in. I also i blended my own custom snare samples 50/50 to get more attack and sustain without affecting the hi-hat bleed.

Other gear used: Mackie Mr5 second generation studio monitors, Cockos Reaper 4.62, Waves Studio Classics bundle, Waves Maxxbass, Waves L2, and Reaper factory plugins. Presonus Faderport for automation.
