She's been on our radar for almost a year now, determined to stay anonymous in this world, she's got an amazing project running on soundcloud called 'the house witchtapes' where she has over 10 thousand true listeners.

In these mixtapes she features guestmixes from witches and magicians all over the globe with angelic vocals, hypnotizing soundscapes and magical downtempo beats which will take you on a deep and relaxing journey.

For this guestmix, which she carefully prepared over the last months, she carved an emotional and relaxing experimental story with an intimate touch.

The multi-talented artist Hekske grew up on a little farm in a forgotten hamlet in the North of Belgium at spitting distance from the Dutch border.  At age 18, she left the farm and went to study in Leuven, after which she lived in South-Asia for several years before returning to Belgium and settling down in a small village near the sleepy town of Ninove in East-Flanders, where she quietly spends lots of time in her garden in the company of her rabbit.

After discovering electronic music during the summer of 2016, she decided to make a little fun mix with Audacity in January 2017 and casually posted it on Soundcloud, thinking it would get no more than 20 plays.  The tape got way more success than expected and was a few months later renamed Witchtape #1, at the moment when Hekske converted her Soundcloud page into a fairy tale-like channel with the name ‘The House Witchtapes’.  Since then, she has invited close to 100 guest witches and wizards into her unique mystic magic world, while writing a witchy little fairy-tale for each episode. 

And in parallel, Hekske rapidly developed her musical and storytelling skills and in the course of the last 4 years she has made podcasts for over 20 top-tier channels like Deep Stories,  Baikal Nomads, Sunset Grooves and Elektro Uwe. But strangely she has so far never made a tape for a Belgian channel.  So buckle up and brace yourself for the long overdue Belgian debut of the ‘Bibi Blocksberg of the downtempo scene’

Unendlichkeit und noch viel weiter

Was ist diese Liebe von der immer alle reden? Bei dieser Frage geht es mir nicht um die partnerschaftliche Liebe oder gar das Gefühl des Verliebtseins, vielmehr um diesen einen Zustand, welcher als Essenz des Lebens gehandhabt wird. Die Ausrichtung des Selbst auf Liebe, kann ebenso wie das Gefühl der Dankbarkeit, zu einer Ausdehnung und Erweiterung des Bewusstseins führen. Alles wirkt plötzlich so spielerisch leicht und jede noch so unangenehm erscheinende Situation kann mit dem benötigten Abstand, aus der Vogelperspektive betrachtet werden. Man nimmt die Perspektive des Beobachters ein, lässt die Gedanken des Verstandes ihrer Wege ziehen und bleibt ganz bei sich. Bei offenen Fragen kann man auch ganz tief in sich hinein lauschen. In der Stille und von Zeit zu Zeit hat die Intuition auch eine Antwort parat. Die Frequenz der Liebe geht mit Leichtigkeit einher. Angst findet in einer solchen Schwingungsebene keinen Platz und die guten Gedanken ziehen erfreuliche Erlebnisse nach sich. 

Unser heutiger Gast DJ brennt, liebt und lebt für die elektronische Musik. Army of Love lauscht leidenschaftlich gerne dem rhythmischen 4/4 Takt. Dabei ist er am liebsten in Bewegung und lässt seinen Gefühlen freien Lauf. Diese Momente werden dann gut und gerne auch auf Kamera festgehalten und mit der ganzen Welt geteilt. Heute begibt sich Army of Love selbst hinter die Decks und mixt seine Downtempo Lieblinge zum lovecast zusammen. Dabei spiegelt sich seine Lebenslust voll und ganz in diesem Set wieder und überträgt sich wie automatisch auf den Hörer. Was für ein Blitzgewitter der Liebe.

Here is my set from the LAS festival last Friday July 1.
Alongside Kora, Riyoon, Kapoor, Avem, Tanga Elektra, Arutani and many more on the Flow Tent Stage.

I just say from 35 to 9 degrees...hehe.
And this wide range of temperatures, which reflects the massive drop in it that happened so rapidly, is for me a lovely correlation to all the colorful, warm and wonderful spectrum of emotions and moments that I was able to experience at this amazing festival. I would like to thank here & now all contributors, dancers, supporters and resonating beings so much. But especially thanks from the bottom of my heart to Rosi, Mateusz, Seb, Mitch & Jago as well as Kora, Riyoon & Kapoor. <3

Life is intense and we should enjoy every moment.
