When I first released painted light, I had no idea what I was doing with sound engineering so the final result came out sounding not to my liking at best. So I returned to it over a year later, now much more confident in my sound and in my production and I was able to fully realize this song with a truly thick wall of sound with the edition of soft vocals. I might re-release this on Spotify if all goes well.

It's been 8 years
And what has taught me to love
Still haunts my thoughts.
I thought by now
I'd be over you
Your eyes that told stories
Of a masterpiece only heard
By those you trusted.
Or your warm welcoming voice
Like chai served by angels.
Love is a funny thing
It may be parasocial in some cases
But even a presence
Can lead to longing
Untold in literature.
Although we are both different people now
You rediscovering life
And what it means to love,
And me fighting all my demons
Building myself with their remains,
I still find myself drawn to you.
Although I am completely different,
I am still a moth to a flame.
But I can't blame myself,
And I'm sure if you knew 
You wouldn't blame me either.
I have never felt romantic love.
All my relationships
Have been an unfair transaction.
Using my kindness for gratitude.
But there was you,
A pure sapphire in a sea of filth
That I had become a part of.
You treated me like a person,
How could I not fall in love?
But we were both kids
In a savage world that did not care about us.
How is anyone
Supposed to deal with anything
In that context?
Still, I see you are doing well,
And with someone who cares.
I have to say, I'm happy for you!
I'm doing well too.
It's been difficult,
