Canut Reyes is one of the most unique gipsy singers and one of the pillars of the famous Gipsy Kings, this song is a tribute to his father, it features powerful vocals with string orchestra , acoustic bass, palmas &amp; flamenco percussion.

Gitano is a tribute from Canut to his father José Reyes, famous singer of Cante Jondo
(in Andalusian folk music it means "deep song", and is considered the deepest form of
vocal expression in flamenco), style which Canut is keeping alive today.

This song originated in a collaboration between Canut and the brothers Gildas and 
Jean-Baptiste Boclé while they toured as bassist and keyboardist with the Gipsy King, 
where they started to jam and write songs with Canut while on the road, it is a powerful 
and melancholic piece they orchestrated and arranged around Canut's vocals.
Flamenco and Orchestral colors co-exist in harmony to bring to life moments shared 
with José, witnessing the handing down of a great gipsy singing tradition .
The piece opens with powerful vocals backed up by dark, deep and moody strings, then 
the palmas take over, joined by the cajon and bowed basses in 6/8 rhythm with Canut's 
magnificent vocal lines soaring over it, the string orchestra comes back with intensity to
build up to a powerful ending.

Sirenas is an acoustic ballad with flamenco style vocals by Canut Reyes ( one of the pillars of the famous Gipsy Kings), guitar, upright bass, a touch of Hammond organ, percussion and Orchestral Strings. A very melancholic and soulful song.

Sirenas is a nostalgic song talking about heartbreak, it was first recorded
by the Bocle brothers and Canut on the Keltic Tales album '"Crossfields" in 2010 .
This version on Canut Reyes's solo project is very acoustic ( except for a lightshadowy Hammond organ ) : 
nylon string guitar , upright bass , cajon and light prercussion, a gorgeous string orchestra feels like
silk under Canut's unique voice, opening up wide spaces for him to shine, then comes a Uilleann pipe
taking over the melody for a short while, bringing a soulful lament and a celtic touch to the song 
(it also keeps the connection to the original version), Canut returns to finish this tale of loss :
" as I walk in sorrow, a star in the sky started to weep… "(a mis pasos , ulna estrella en el cielo también lloro…)
