This album took around a year and half or so to write,record,mix & master here... and I gotta say it feels good to really dive back into writing full time here and get all the songs out into the world here!

Aside from it being the start of a command line scripting language...

My first song on this EP is called “Root”

I called it this because of a few reasons.

We start the root of this story back in Mexico where my dad was messing around with the guitar and some friends asked if they could use a neat guitar riff that he was playing. So essentially my dad helped co-write a song back in Mexico with an old friend. I was mind-blown at this fact since I wanted to hear this song! As it turns out, no recording of it was ever made :(

I then asked him if he still keeps in contact with buddy but with it being such a long time since that happened, he can’t remember his name. (This was before internet times!)

A couple years later he decided to buy himself a guitar and teach himself how to play a few songs. So when I came around as a tiny human, I wanted to play on this instrument. After wrecking his guitar by adding a lovely scratch by the sound hole :p , he decided to enroll me in some proper guitar lessons. Specifically spanish and jazz guitar lessons.

As I reflect on these facts and choices my dad made, I always wonder if I would be this same type of musical person or very different... I then figured it would be really neat to start off this EP with him playing guitar at the start here and then I would join in and continue the song from there.

You can hear how the progression of acoustic guitar riffs sounds off and a bit out of time… this is supposed to signify how when you first start learning something, you won’t be good. But over time, with some practice and patience, your skills will improve and turn into something that you are stoked to share with others.

'Each New Moment' is a song that was released just last Valentine’s day of this year and was played on a local radio station here in Vancouver. It will be the third song on my upcoming EP here. 


I captured a large audio snippet of the show for memories, since it’s not everyday where your stuff gets played on the radio!  But I’m glad I did because I think most of ya'll missed it since it was aired during a Friday afternoon here. Go click that bio link to hear the audio snippet! 
 
Gotta say this song has some heavy grunge feels and apparently has a chemical brothers vibe(?)  I already did a large multi-post on this song here so feel free to go back to my February posts here to get the details about it here. Essentially 'EnM' encompasses my experiences with ethical non-monogamy and I cram it all into that song. The original plan was not to not release it so early.. but with Valentines day coming up, that opportunity was called for! So you can find this song on most streaming services right now.
