SEA FREEZE, the debut album from long-distance electronica collective CAPAC explores human absence and loss of control. Sunken beneath the towering steel and icy glass of a modern dystopia, the album is characterised by a leitmotif that snakes, sneaks and squeezes through ten pieces; emerging and decaying as a dusty piano recording, a found sound and a subtle guitar, punctuated by the ebb and flow of the group's vocalist Kate Smith.

All too aware of the trend in popular electronic music to conform to 16 bar structures, Capac challenge the convention; drifting with purpose in and between spaces, taking Sea Freeze ‘off grid’; exploring texture, ambience and flow amongst compound meter.

Capac channel inspiration from across the contemporary avant-garde. From the dark throbs of Modern Love to the modern classical masterpieces of Kranky, their rhythms sit on the precipice of the armchair dancefloor, yet truly belong deep in the bass bins of the Boiler Room or Berghain.

Following the 2014 release of EP series Nested and Nested (The Other Branch), Sea Freeze marks a seven year evolution for the collective since their formation - at a time when the Copenhagen Climate Change Conference resulted in non-committal from all nations involved, frozen seas were confined to areas of the Baltic, and water on Mars was science fiction.

Capac are Stuart Cook, Matt Parker (of Nedry), Gary Salomon and Kate Smith. Live they perform with traditional instruments and electronics alongside projectionist and video maker Michael James Lewis, creator of a series of video pieces that complement the deep blue, icy textures of the album.

Sea Freeze will be released by This Is It Forever Records in the UK on Monday, 4 May 2015 as a limited edition 12” Vinyl and digital download available from all good music vendors. This Is It Forever is a Manchester based independent label formed by electronica duo Gavin and Tom from Ghosting Season and worriedaboutsatan.

Stuart Howard aka Lapalux has come up with something special for his first release with Cali's finest, Brainfeeder. Having made his name with his cassette-only "Many Faces Out Of Focus" and acclaimed bootlegs and remixes he returns with a seven track EP of such poise and beauty, one listen is enough to know you're onto something special.

Lapalux bathes your brain in lush textures, surprising and explosive atmospheres set in unencountered, unearthly spaces, all somehow perfectly set against catchy rolling choruses informed by pop and commercial R&amp;B. On the "When You're Gone" EP he channels and refines his sound and shapes it into hazy, woozy emotion. Whether working with a singer like Py (on "Moments"), or deconstructing found samples and his own voice, Howard stretches, bends and warps sound to make soul - not plastic posturing but real emotion made of synthetic sound.

Home Age is the first proper Eleh full length since 2012's Homage To The Pointed Waveforms. Packaged in a deluxe gold on black heavy duty letterpress jacket made by Studio On Fire in Minneapolis. Edition of 500. Also available simultaneously is a new split LP between Eleh & Christina Kubisch.

These three new pieces seek to expose the inherent musicality of pure electrical currents via high resolution Serge STS synthesizers. Like early Eleh work, Home Age is inward looking and deliberate but also slowly emotional and revealing as if peering blurry eyed through a window. Melody, harmony and counterpoint are suggested but not revealed.
