BIOGRAPHY

Cape Funk Cartel is an innovative, exciting, dynamic and ambitious DJ &amp; Production Duo based in Cape Town, South Africa. Their roots lie in Jazz, Soul, Funk, Disco, Swing and House Music.

The idea behind Cape Funk Cartel’s music is to incorporate the traditional House sound with elements of Jazz, Funk, Swing, Disco and Soul using both sampled & original grooves. 
The tracks produced by Cape Funk Cartel are aimed to touch one’s soul and serve with a simple Get-Down factor that is designed for the dance floor.

Since CFC’s inception, they have garnered unexpected and warm support from many local and International Djs and House stalwarts.
Past releases include EPs released on Stacy Kidd’s House For Life Records (USA) and  J Caprice’s Juiced Music (USA). Both Releases have charted in the Top 100 on Traxsource.
They have also launched their own Label in 2011 called Native Rootz Entertainment, which has spawned releases from themselves as well as Cape Town Dj/Producers SAMWORLD, Soul Cougar and Che.

Aside from the production studio, Cape Funk Cartel have a lengthy combined DJ experience of 15 years proudly playing at many prominent venues in South Africa. People can expect a dj set like they’ve never witnessed or heard before as something new and unexplored to the listener is always on the menu, always keeping the performance dynamic and FRESH!!!.
