London-based “future soul” trio, 10:32, bring the sunshine vibes on their new single, “Coffee Shop Girl”. The group, consisting of in-demand pianist Lyle Barton (Emma-Jean Thackray, Matters Unknown, Golden Mean), drummer Radovan Brtko, and vocalist Bridget Walsh are sure to impress, with their fresh & electric blend of jazz, hip-hop, and soul.

Their latest single, “Coffee Shop Girl”, was inspired by a period of recalibration and renewal for the band. Produced by Lewis Moody (known for his work with 30/70 and B-ahwe), the song is an evolution of their signature sound hints to a great appreciation for the likes of Moonchild and Erykah Badu. 

The band shared some words: ““We escaped to the countryside in 2021 to conjure up a new record, and coffee shop girl is our first release from that week away. It feels right to start this new 10:32 chapter in the springtime with the same fresh energy you might start your day with when you get your morning coffee. Crushing on the possibilities of what you can manifest, falling in love with the hope for things to get better. Lightness of spirit but depth of intention - that’s basically our vibe.”

10:32 is an exciting new collective that is pushing the boundaries of soul and jazz and they are sure to capture the hearts and minds of music lovers around the world. Judging by the sound of “Coffee Shop Girl'”, there’s a lot more to come.

After a refurbishment, lick of paint and a re-opening it’s time for Mimm to have a stretch, limber up and round up where they are musically. Their first compilation for over two years shows the journey deeper into the world of electronic soul music, slowed down tempos and doped-out beatsmiths which they have taken.

Mimm have drawn from their talented international collective with fresh dubplates from the likes of in-house producers Congi, Philippe Edison, Metske, Saulya, Warren Xclnce, Mos Isley, Pete Beardsworth, H725, Bruises and Melo Zed. As well as having a few select cuts from internationally acclaimed producers who have graced their events over the past years from Lone (R&S), Om Unit (Cosmic Bridge), Quest (Deep Medi), Flako, Submerse (Project Mooncircle) and Kaelin Ellis (Florida).

It’s an eclectic and brave offering with a general sound that leans heavily on ambient and psychedelic hip hop and house, drenched in warm analogue colours, nostalgic samples and soulful melodies, all the while with a keen awareness of more subtle classical compositions. Throughout there’s a distinct flavour of smoked whiskey-bar jazz riffs grounded in a gritty UK, bass-heavy setting and as musical round-ups go, for Mimm, this is definitely a coming of age compilation.

The young South East London producer Ben Hauke takes us on an epic sonic excursion with a four track sampler on the CoOp’s "Coopr8 Records". "Movin' Broke" is driven by crunchy MPC beats laced with obscure and dusty Puerto Rican breaks mashed with Brazilian, and Cuban crate digs delivering Ben’s distinctly raw and grimy London style.

Presented here, the title track glides with a cool Funk tinge interlaced with soundtracky string samples showing off Ben's skills with lead lines and obvious musical curiosities. It's a different spin on the foundational Bruk sound that opens doors to styles that might not have been combined before, and it's something totally unique. "Movin' Broke" is an important EP that's definitely worth praise!
