Kristian Craig Robinson has been a familiar face amidst the London musical community for many years having released a sprawling back catalogue of music on the likes of XL Recordings, Planet Mu and Faith & Industry. He has long been acclaimed for his contribution to experimental electronic music and has remained a key figure amidst the local community working in various studios and under the guise of various projects. Until recently he was involved in the running of the studio operating out of the Total Refreshment Centre. Last month marked the release of a new album which he unveiled on his own label, the release was titled "Goatherder" and was a tripped out journey between abstract soundscapes and ethereal experimentalism. 

We invited him to record a Monday mix for us.

International psych explorers Flamingods are back with brand new album ‘Levitation’ (3 May, Moshi Moshi Records) and have announced a run of dates including their biggest headline show to date at London’s Village Underground on 1 May.

The first single to be unveiled is ‘Marigold’, a multi-sensory psych-rock trip that finds  Flamingods on hair-raising form even by their own exuberant standards. ‘Marigold’ oozes fun out of every pore, a perfect antidote to turbulent times.

‘Levitation’ is inspired largely by the disco, funk and psychedelic sounds coming out of the Middle East and South Asia in the 70s, the album channels these influences through a vision soaked in mysticism, positivity and sun-drenched imagery.

‘Levitation’ is the follow-up to Flamingods’ breakthrough 2016 album ‘Majesty’ 
The band will be taking their incendiary live show to venues around the UK in April and May in support of the record, as well as a one-off-date supporting Omar Souleyman in Bristol January 31st.
