POLAAR is excited to announce the upcoming release of SNKLS, an artist who is redefining the boundaries of footwork and IDM. A collaborator since the label's inception, SNKLS crafts tracks where fragmented percussion intertwines with IDM and dub influences, drawing inspiration from the techniques of concrete music. His style is marked by a minimalist approach, where each element is pushed to its extreme, adding an introspective dimension to his compositions.

With « ELEMENTS », his new four-track EP, SNKLS makes his most powerful statement. Each piece plunges into a realm of bleep and dub techno, while others explore gong sounds and repetitive motifs, subtly evoking traditional Eastern music and minimalism. Building directly on the foundation laid by his previous EP, **Half Horn**, SNKLS skillfully plays with our mental space, transforming this listening experience into an immersive and obsessive journey that is undeniably modern.

VLZQUES - Guest Mix (MAY25)

Typecell and A-Tech cast a cold spell with Fractured, a track that feels like the first crack of ice beneath your feet. It opens in near silence; haunting pads drift through the void while distant percussion echoes like footsteps in an abandoned ruin. The atmosphere is uneasy and intimate, steeped in a creeping sense of dread that slowly tightens its grip.

When the drop arrives, it doesn’t explode... it emerges. Minimal, dark DnB pulses forward with restrained menace, driven by sharp, ritualistic percussion that snaps and rattles in the cold. Each element feels deliberate and skeletal, leaving space for tension to breathe. From within that darkness, a ghostly synth rises, carving out a fragile melody that flickers like a dying flame.

As the track unfolds, broken strings cut through the mix, splintered and sorrowful, signaling an inevitable shift. The air grows colder, the shadows longer. Fractured is the sound of winter approaching... of light retreating and darkness settling in, slow and unavoidable.
