When Jake Childs first heard the instrumental from Molly & Tacos, he immediately knew it needed a vocal that could match its silky groove. He brought in Gia Wilde, a singer he’d been wanting to work with for a while—her voice rich, soulful, and subtly hypnotic. She nailed it on the first take. The result was so on point, Molly & Tacos decided to build their original version around her performance too.

Houston duo Molly & Tacos (Brian Vincent and Soulos Music) deliver a retro-tinged house track that fuses 70s acoustic disco, jazzy instrumentation, and lo-fi charm. The groove is driven by dusty Rhodes chords, sun-kissed guitar, and a warm, funky bassline, topped off by Gia Wilde’s breezy vocal that feels both nostalgic and fresh. Occasional Latin trumpet flares and melodic string layers make this a poolside classic-in-the-making.

The Jake Childs Remix:
Jake takes it into deeper territory. Known for flipping remixes into almost entirely new experiences, he reworks Can You See Me with a hypnotic, extended intro and a garage-inspired bassline that gives it underground weight. The original piano riff remains, but the rhythm is more locked-in, tech-house flavored, and layered with a second, bubbling bass synth. The remix builds in waves with energy breaks and smart drops, creating a version built for late-night dance floors without losing the soul of the original.

"Can You See Me" is minimal in origin. However, Jason's arrangement is magnificent and constructive in nature. He slowly builds the energy incorporating distinct and minimalistic elements such as high hats, shakers, bells, and hand claps, finally introducing an hypnotic bass line that creates the driving force in this female vocal driven hedonistic banger. He also uses a recurrent echoed 80s very recognizable trumpet sample, giving the song a romantic timeless grandeur. 

Jason manipulates Gia Wilde's purposely monotone vocals in a repetitive manner in the intro in order to emphasize her absolute approval for that linear moment, then opens up to the full vocals delivered in the same manner in the first and only verse. Her lyrical delivery comes across with impeccable timing and memorable interpretation. 

This is the perfect after hours track to get them into the dawn. This track could possibly be used in a cinematic score similarly as in movie scenes such as the oracle one in 300 or the orgy scene in Bram Stoker's Dracula. Transporting the dance floor on that imaginary journey would be a no brainer with this track. A must for your musical library.
