There is a little gangsta in everyone and there has to be. That little gangsta inside us helps us stand up for ourselves when someone violates our space, mentally or physically. It fuels our drive to be something else than what society tries to mold us into. It helps us transcend ourselves and be something greater, something that once only existed in our minds - or still does. This track is about that little bit of gangsta we all have and must have inside.

My music is heavily inspired by EDM style progressive house but since I feel my style has evolved beyond that, and as my music has taken inspiration from music released after what I consider the heyday of progressive house (the era that inspires me the most is 2012-2014) I have decided that tracks like this one belong to a different genre.

Melodic House as a genre marks a return to form for house (in my view): the genre is focused on melodies, four on the floor beats, prominent basslines, with added flavor from 808s and other trap-inspired sounds. Melodic House is extremely melodic, with counterpoint melodies playing on top of the main melodies accompanied by tuned, melodic percussion. All this works together in creating a harmonic, energetic experience ready for dancefloors and headphones everywhere.

Capricaseven is an electronic artist and DJ from Helsinki, Finland. He makes electronic music with a focus on infectious melodies combined with lyrics that dig deep into themes like spirituality, spiritual growth, healing and the dark side of human psychology, without forgetting the occasional forays into more whimsical pop territory. In fact, there is a strong pop vibe in all of his songs, whether it’s obvious or not.

He started producing electronic music in December 2012 after immersing himself in the world of electronic music for the first time. He now does the songwriting, producing and increasingly, singing on his tracks while also collaborating with some of the hottest new talent in the scene like the up-and-coming singer Yellonis.

Capricaseven’s sound has been influenced the most by Avicii, Alesso, Martin Garrix, Swedish House Mafia, Sick Individuals, W&W, Promise Land, Crystal Castles, Huoratron and Linkin Park.

Capricaseven finds lyrical inspiration from years of listening to metal music: bands like The Devil Wears Prada, Dio, Killswitch Engage and In Flames. In 2020 Capricaseven made his first official remix for the metalcore band A War Within.
