On multiple occasions I've found myself continue to sing one song's lyrics over the next song's music as my phone randomly shuffles whatever tunes it contains in any particular traffic jam. It probably confuses the folks in the other cars, especially when I have my windows open. But on one occasion it gave us this. There was only one real question remaining - should it be called the title I eventually gave it or should it have been "Heard It Through The 80's"?

It's the dinosauriest mash-up ever! Epic is not the word. That's because the correct word is quite possibly "silly".

Still, the benefit of mashing up Walk The Dinosaur is that no matter what other lyrics you add, it's never going to wind up making any less sense than the original.

And yes, I agree - this really should be the theme for the new Jurassic World movie. I'm waiting for the phone call. I'm sure there's still time to do a deal...

Well, this is a bit of fun, isn't it? I'll be honest, I don't know quite when you'd play this. It's not exactly a party tune, but any additional heart-wrenching emotional seriousness taken on by the vocals thanks to the presence of an orchestra is unceremoniously shattered once the brothers Wilson turn up to chirp along to the bridge. Still, art doesn't have to have a purpose. And nor does this (what with it clearly not being art and thus not being covered by the previous statement).

One of these days I'll mash something up that was recorded within the previous 10 years. That day is not today. However, by smushing together a Beyoncé song from 2003 with an awesome (and almost entirely instrumental) UNKLE track from 1998 this is almost certainly the most up-to-date (or perhaps least out-of-date) mash-up I've produced. And it's pretty spiffy. I bet Beyoncé always wanted to be spiffy.
