If you took your time for an extensive, fullfilled childhood, you're allowed to grow up late in your twenties. Just like Captain Capa, undergoing their musical coming-of-age right now with their new record 'Foxes'.
What used to be an anchor, slowly becomes an albatross around the neck - a world you don't fit in the more you get away from it. And while old friends are busy building houses, getting kids and making money, you keep losing yourself in a back and forth of touring and slacking.
Captain Capa are probably the hardest touring band in Audiolith - and certainly the most-rousing on. The new album 'Foxes' comes out October 25th, the correspondent single reaches your melancholic choreomania since today.
'Foxes' is the foundation Captain Capa planted under their cloud-castle.

Das Album "Saved My Life" darf als Danksagung an die eigene Band verstanden werden: Musik als Lebensretter vor dem Tod durch Langeweile. Ab sofort kann sich die Teenage Angst auch bei Audiolith entladen. Zwischen linker Rave Ästhetik und reflektierter Neonfeierei klafft ein Loch. Ein Loch, das Captain Capa mit großen Melodien, lauten Popsongs und Herz-fickenden Elektro-Eskapaden stopfen. Es darf getanzt und geweint werden, und unter Umständen darf mit Daumen und Zeigefingern ein Herzsymbol gebildet und gen Bühne gestreckt werden - egal ob in Berlin, Hamburg oder Klein-Schönewerda.

"Death Of Hydra" ist der programmatische Titel und erklärt sich so: Wenn man einer Hydra einen Kopf abschlägt, wachsen direkt zwei Köpfe nach - sagt die griechische Mythologie. Genau so, nur ohne Schwerthieb und Massaker und Blut, ist aus dem Duo Captain Capa plötzlich ein Dreiergespann geworden. Dass dieses martialische Unterfangen nicht spurlos am Sound der Band vorbeizieht, war zu erwarten. Dass sich Captain Capa allerdings gleich meterweit aus dem Fenster ihrer Elektropop-Comfort-Zone lehnen, überrascht dann doch. In drei Songs, die unterschiedlicher nicht sein könnten, lotsen „Die Neuen Captain Capa“ aus, was sie dem geneigten Hörer an Abwechslung überhaupt zutrauen können. Das dreiköpfige Biest steigt als düsterer Technostampfer, als verdrogtes Pop-Epos und als in Stars und Stripes gewickelte Emo-Hymne über die Trümmer des Captain Capa Backkatalogs. Das heißt für die Bühne: mehr Hände, mehr Knöpfe, mehr Zufälle, mehr Unfälle. Das kann auf Tour eigentlich nur noch zur unabdingbaren Selbstzerstörung führen, zu der die Band herzlich einlädt.

Captain Capa - Vipera

According to the German Hunting Association there are 230.000 animal-vehicle crashes each year.

The two work animals of the Hamburgian labels Audiolith and Cobretti Records have recognized the signs of the times: Dead animals are an integral part of our everyday lives - whether to eat, to wear or just as a roadside decoration. Already more than 20 years ago Bob Dylan sang: "How many roads does a band bus drive before he ever hits a deer?". And also in the meta-meaning the lifeless beasts determine our lives. This far fetched connection by Captain Capa and Supershirt has been squeezed into five new songs going to be released on October 8th on Audiolith. It’s about falling in love and pulling the plug situations, as in the title song "Tote Tiere" to the drunken thing in everyone of us as in "Dein Monster" or emotionally dopey misconduct in "Roadkill" à la Hegemann

Supershirt and Captain Capa got to know each other mentally and musically during joint concerts. Soon after the first shows it was clear to go on tour together. They share the same humor, the close connection with the highway and the not always equally serious approach to their music, most commonly called electro / punk. From the beginning their infernal representatives - the labels Audiolith and Cobretti being like twins, adjuged (with euro signs in their eyes) to the plan.

In October 2010, Amadis sends both bands through all of Germany on the “Tote Tiere”-Tour presented and recommended by Intro Magazine. Of course all participants are afraid. Afraid of themselves - and not of road kills. Collateral damage is more than accepted on the risky ways to the clubs, to the dead animals on the dancefloor, just waiting like a deer in the headlights to be run over by the sound.

The Berlin located Band Supershirt - born in Rostock on the Baltic Sea - have grown into a trio after the release of their hit album "8000 Mark" and the over-hit single "8000 Mark". Timo Katze reinforced Tim Brenner and Faxe System since early 2010 on the six-string axe. On their never ending 8000 Mark-Tour they now have played over 100 concerts. Once trying to blackmail their label with sending a Rambo knife but this being  misunderstood by the the gray-haired codger Lewerenz, Supershirt are now a real part of the family.

In the meantime Captain Capa have saved themselves from the dreariness of their Thuringian spa-town life, by quietly devoting to the magic of various beat machines and synthetic music production. It took them less than a year from the first self burned EP to the epic pop longplayer debut on Cobretti Records. The careful guidance by their Audiolith buddies Bratze, Egotronic or Juri Gagarin took the guys on the stages of the german rave hells, where they feel completely contented. Since then they make every coffepot rattle in joy with their chiptune infected dancepop escapades.

The title song - the cooperation of both bands - "Tote Tiere" together with a video will be available as a free [sic!] download. The songs "Dein Monster" and "Whales" shall appear as the first edition of the Audiolith-split singles series on 7" vinyl. The whole package - that is five songs plus remixes by Deaf Danger and Umami - will be released digitally on every relevant store from Amazon to iTuneZ.

And remember: Even the most delicious look can deceive, you do not eat animals that end with "X" - Beware of fox, ox, ibex, addax, hyrax, lynx and sphinx!

When cutting off one of the heads of a Hydra (you know, gigantic beast, kinda looks like a snake), two more heads will grow. Thats what greek mythology says. Exactly like that, just without the sword and the massacre and the blood, the duo Captain Capa just became a trio. An endeavor as martial as that must take its toll on the sound of the band, you'll think. And indeed it does, maybe even more than you or the band were looking for. In three songs which couldn't be more diverse, „the new Captain Capa“ are testing the waters to see how far they can expand their vision of dark electronic pop music. The three-headed monster climbs upon the ruins of the Captain Capa discography disguised as a dark techno-banger, a drugged pop-epic or an emo-hymn wrapped up in stars and stripes.
