★ The phenomena of exercise tapes and albums started officially in Yugoslavia in 1983, Jane Fonda’s book was heavily promoted and published in local edition. Famous actress Milena Dravić released Aerobika Sa Milenom Dravić cassette for RTV Ljubljana and Sarajevo choreographer Gordana Magaš released Aerobik Ples: Pokrenimo se malo!. They were classical instructional tapes with voice-over and international disco or chart hits in the playlist . 
★ But Vesna Mimica, who perfected her art with Sylvie Vartan in Paris and Alfi Kabiljo, famous  composer, had more original and serious take on fitness albums in the same year. Cassettes YU Aerobic Br.1 and YU Aerobic Br.2 were released as a series and much more importantly, they did not use international cover songs, but conceptual and original music, intentionally made for fitness and aerobics.
★ For the first time ever, Fox & His Friends Records are releasing original, restored and unpublished instrumental master tapes from the Aerobic sessions, used for the production of Mimica cassettes. The rise of library music appreciation in recent years shows that we are right and more and more hidden gems are being re-discovered and re-evaluated. Such are the selections from the surviving studio masters from the vivid and sporty socialist aerobics era, which we chose to present in their original form without the instructional dubbing and voice-over. 
★ That does not mean we do not like Vesna Mimica’s sporty fitness lines (we do!), but in this completely different instrumental form, which was never released and aired publicly, Alfi Kabiljo’s precise jazz and disco mixture of melodies and beats turns out to be still fresh and dance friendly. You can enjoy this rare treat even more and be your own Vesna Mimica while exercising to it. So, just work it left, right, left, right, left, right and do not forget to breeeathe...!

Pour ce numéro 108, on reçoit un local, Vincent (c'est son prénom) alias @akrav-isra ! Instigateur des soirées Dark Disco sur la ville rose avec l'aide du collectif @plein-phare avec comme invités @damon-jee ou encore @musumeci, Akrav est un jeune producteur qui veut redonner ses lettres de noblesse à une techno de qualité. Il prépare pas mal de prods à paraitre sur différents labels pour 2023 dont un EP chez @dustandblood et un autre sur Ogio le nouveau label de @neurotiker... À suivre de très près donc !

Four excellent reinterpretations of Benjamin Fröhlich's Dance Imperative "Do You Wanna Dance?" by Belfast's rising star Jordan Nocturne (who comes correct with two version), Barcelona's finest Baldo, who turned dancefloors upside down this summer with his Hit "Ride The Night" and Rosa Red, who just released her stunning debut EP on Permanent Vacation. Four variations of one track, that will serve their purpose during different parts of the night.

Benjamin Fröhlich - Do You Wanna Dance - Jordan Nocturne Trance Remix

After his well-received “Ingrediente Secreto” EP on Me Gusta Records, Brazilian producer Seed Selector scores another hot release, this time on Sabiá, a rising – and shining – electronic music label based in the beautiful city of Natal, in the northeast of Brazil. In “Papel”, Seed, in partnership with young producer Art Popper, widely explores his House Music influences and brings to life two insightful versions of the title track: the introspective Into Mix and the bouncing Original Mix. On the remix duties, Petty Touches and Felipe Reis brought the game to their own realms and came up with two spot-on interpretations.

Premiered here, the original is a sharp dance-floor filler. If not a peak-time banger – not every track needs to be one –, “Papel” is definitely a must-have for the fans of high-quality Deep House out there. Its crushable bassline, atmospheric synth lead, and punctual vocal hook deliver an upbeat and mesmerising cut with a smooth acid gait.

In sum: The result of the first collaboration between the Paulista artists has undoubtedly left a “gostinho de quero mais” in the air. Kudos!

Yoyodisco is the dance project by Mike Giuliani, musician/producer/DJ/performer.

Based in Bologna (ITA), Mike is one of the founding members of Locomotiv Club one of the most prestigious venue in the country. In the late '90s Giuliani was part of the pop sensation Lùnapop as guitarist. Since then he has been involved and has created several projects, from pop to garage rock to electro dance. His latest musical adventure is Yoyodisco, combining all of his influences with the punk/DIY attitude, experimenting with dance music and with the best of contemporary pop.

The first release from Yoyodisco was the EP "Yoyo's Edit" (May 3, 2020) for the Italo Italians label, featuring the tracks "Forza Campione" and "The Party".

The second one was "Angel Eyes", self released under the homonimous label Yoyodisco. The song is an exciting cover of Roxy Music and marks the beginning of the collab with Katarina Poklepovic and Michele Quadri of So Beast. After a rendez-vous backstage at Locomotiv the three began working together on the second EP "Futuro Fatale"; Mike composing all the beats and arrangements, Katarina and Michele adding their touch with a unique mix of vocal loops and noise guitars. All the lyrics were written by Katarina.

It features 4 original tracks and one remix.

El dj y productor guatemalteco tiene un nuevo EP  que verán la luz el próximo 28 de Febrero a través de la etiqueta de Macaulay, Richmerch. Un nuevo trabajo de altas influencias disco y house pero al estilo de Fabio.

Happy to release my 3rd track "Guest List" which has a relaxed house vibe :) I used some string chords and piano to create a soft mood backed by a deep kick-bass combo. Like my last track, I also included a repetitive synth sound with an added auto-pan to give that section some outer space feels. The challenge for myself this time was to create an almost 6 min track which forced me to generate ideas that kept the track from becoming stale. More challenging than I thought... 🤣 I learned from Josh Baker that a key rule to making electronic music is to change something every 8 bars, which was a great tip!

I chose the title "Guest List" because listening to it gives me the sense of a private lounge where you'll need to be on a special list to get in.

All sounds were created with plugins that come with the MPC 2 software.

Captain Mustache is a French music producer and DJ from Paris.

Since 2020, he has released music on some of the most respected labels in the electronic scene: Kompakt, Mobilee, Exploited, Permanent Vacation, Helena Hauff's Return To Disorder, and an album on John Digweed's Bedrock Records, with consistent support from top DJ's around the world.

As a true electronic music lover, he has collaborated with some electro icons (Dave Clarke, Arnaud Rebotini, Chicks on Speed, The Advent, Keith Tucker from AUX88...), adding an extra vocal dimension to his music.

In 2023 he reached a career milestone with a full album called "The Super Album" on the legendary label KOMPAKT Records, with the privilege to join the short list of artists having signed an LP on this label, such as Kölsch, Agents Of Time or WhoMadeWho.

In 2025 he's coming with a new album called "LUZ" on beloved Berlin's label MOBILEE, a new achievement for him as an artist and a special step in his career.

He is now widely recognized for several standout tracks:

Inspired by space disco pioneers, Detroit techno and electroclash, his sound can be defined as romantic & burlesque.
