Kicking 2024 off with an incredible edit on our 'X-PRESSINGS’ edit series by London-based sonic duo Beyond The Struttosphere. They're currently dominating, showcasing their considerable musical production expertise and unwavering passion for cosmic, chugging dark disco.

Their debut EP released on Gouranga Music found much acclaim among Andrew Weatherall and Sean Johnston’s A Love From Outer Space online fraternity, also appearing on Juan Mclean’s (DFA Records) contribution to Tim Sweeney’s Beats In Space mix series.
Propelled to newfound heights, the cosmic duo have since released a number of highly lauded EPs, remixes and edits on esteemed labels and now of-course on our ‘X-PRESSINGS’ edit series.

Beyond The Struttosphere’s music has made sonic reverberations around the globe and has been remixed by notable legends of the scene including; Rebolledo, Rigopolar, Vongold, Badknife and Mufti to name a few. The cosmic cowboys have been deep in the studio recently, working on new material, with live guitar now a mainstay of their productions. Their trademark sound combines resonant chugging basslines with reverbed guitar riffs, syncopated arpeggiators, 80s-inspired synths, vintage vocal samples, Italo drum fills and psychedelic 303 sequences.

Making the rounds across festivals in the US and playing at renowned venues like Le Poisson Rouge in New York City or
Bijou in Boston, Carlo Sine has cemented his status in the history of American music. 

He knows what it takes to get people on the dancefloor, being the founder and curator of the Sine Language parties. He is a creator of experiences with a unique sound, playing with the genres of Psychedelic Disco and House to create his signature Sine sound.

His latest EP ‘Mr. Undercover’ continues his exploration into the Dark Disco genre, bringing in remixes from Martin Cozar and Rigopolar. 

With the self titled track pulling you deep into song and rhythm, the real Mr. Undercover’s vocals creep up on you mid-track. The synths act as a coverup, with the vocals swiftly disappearing back into the electronic beat before you can discover more about him. The second track ‘Duty’ comes in much harsher with a steady (almost industrial)
beat, with the occasional dystopian sound of a robotic  snnouncement. This is the last song you will dance to before
artificial intelligence takes over the earth, so make it count. Martin Cozar’s remix of ‘Mr. Undercover’ turns the track more sinister, as it becomes more of a deep dance where one suspects that Mr. Undercover is lurking on the dancefloor. Rigopolar’s remix of ‘Duty’ is a strong end to the EP, as you wind down in the brain of a computer.

No longer a dystopian rendition of the end of the world, you feel yourself give in to the psychedelic sounds whilst being guided by a calm robotwoman into the future. The EP as a whole feels like an exploration of hidden identities amidst the contrast of strict
technological worlds; ‘Mr. Undercover’ is for listeners of the future to delve into their undercover selves.

The ‘Mr. Undercover’ EP is set to be released on all platforms on August 19th, 2024 via Rigopolar’s Miami based Tour De Infinite label.

Feinstoff drifts into darker territory with Space Dust, a release that feels like dancing at the edge of a vanishing world. Eleonora, fresh off appearances on Get Physical and Anjunadeep, sets the tone with a mesmerizing, dystopian haze.

Remixes from Vhyce and Freudenthal & Saeuer reframe the track from different corners of the void. Vhyce with his signature 909-driven ‘90s pulse, and Freudenthal & saeuer with an addictive melodic twist that lingers like a signal you can’t quite shake.

A cold, dystopian edge fuels the original mix. Sharp kicks, gated snares, and syncopated rave stabs orbiting Eleonora’s unmistakable vocal. Restless, searching - this track moves through a mood between nostalgia and drifting uncertainty. A tough indie dance cut with a hint of EBM. 

Vhyce opens with his signature beat before locking into an arpeggiated bassline that shifts the track into a more dreamlike orbit. The dystopia softens; stripped-back vocals echo into open space, and a mechanical synth line guides it all toward a masterfully executed drop serving a controlled reentry through synthetic clouds and starlit frequencies.

Freudenthal & Saeuer return after their standout “Do It” remix and step into darker realms with a commanding snare and pristine hats. Mustering up a round, rolling bass and an ominous drone, while Eleonora’s vocals loop and glitch like fragments from a fading memory. It all builds toward a melody that doesn’t just stick - it defines the moment, like waking up in a post-dystopian world with the system rebooting. It hits the floor with intent. Sharp, hypnotic, and hard to walk away from.

Captain Mustache is a French music producer and DJ from Paris.

Since 2020, he has released music on some of the most respected labels in the electronic scene: Kompakt, Mobilee, Exploited, Permanent Vacation, Helena Hauff's Return To Disorder, and an album on John Digweed's Bedrock Records, with consistent support from top DJ's around the world.

As a true electronic music lover, he has collaborated with some electro icons (Dave Clarke, Arnaud Rebotini, Chicks on Speed, The Advent, Keith Tucker from AUX88...), adding an extra vocal dimension to his music.

In 2023 he reached a career milestone with a full album called "The Super Album" on the legendary label KOMPAKT Records, with the privilege to join the short list of artists having signed an LP on this label, such as Kölsch, Agents Of Time or WhoMadeWho.
