The Sauce & Carasel - Stir It Up

We are over the moon to present to you the debut single from Carasel’s new album surfacing this Winter. ‘Time Sweep’ is the coming together of 3 drum and bass giants, switching up their trademark 174 tempo and instead trading beats and bars on a infectious boom bap hip-hop track with a surging piano lead and neck cracking drums.

Produced by former BBC 1xtra taste maker Crissy Criss, the tune is instantly recognisable by fans of drum and bass and jungle as the classic ‘Check Check Check’ sounds out from Adam F’s ‘Colours (Originally sampled from Blackstreet for fact fans) paired with ticking clocks and Carasel exclaiming ‘Has anyone got the time?’

What follows is Cara and the legendary Mercury prize winning Reprazent frontman Dynamite MC exchanging flows with numerous references to time, all under the theme of taking action and getting things done;  ‘Stop clock watching – Do Something’ is the mantra. 

We have all waited long enough for this album and as Carasel states ‘Time waits for no man’ so watch out for a steady stream of singles as we build pressure towards the full release.

Fresh out of Bristol, the Ambush Family Tree are back. Always staying fiercely independent, AFT have been smashing it with the D&B recently & has found some of the hottest underground music to surface in recent months gaining a steady reputation for quality output ‘The Moment’ showcases another Branch of the tree, Hip-Hop, as they go back to their roots with some sharp vocally driven boom bap that drops us straight back in the 90’s
AFT004 sees Carasel effortlessly ride the Ded Tebiase production ably assisted by the razor sharp flows of Blacksmith & Jman. 

The track comes with not only an instrumental and an acapella, but also with a clean radio edit to make sure all your DJ needs are covered.

Carasel who is well known in D&B circles for hosting major festivals and club nights with the likes of TC & Sigma released his debut Hip-Hop project in 2012 ‘Progression’ and went on to tour the music across Europe under the ‘Carasel Live’ guise, since that debut he has had a steady stream of releases on a varied soundscape of BPM’s and Tempos on a variety of labels including Hospital, Formation & Audioclone. The Moment returns him to the essence of classic sounding Hip-Hop, scratched hooks and sharp rhymes that show how he hasn’t forgotten his influences & show the power, strength & versatility of Carasel as a writer and emcee.

The way Ded Tebiase flips up the sample and adds the cuts is crazy and we dare
you to try and not nod your head to the solid production and rhyme patterns as Blacksmith kicks of the track with a solid 16 and Jman one of UK Hip Hops most celebrated MCs shuts down the tune and shows why his 2014 album Auronography has led him to touring the world this year. This is music from the soul,
expressed as it should be, with passion and integrity.

The acapella on the flip is a rare and welcome addition these days & works just as well in the mix as the full version, giving the possibility of dropping the vocals in any mix you like, to quote Carasel ‘Different flows for different shows different tempos of drums’.

About the SUB 150 COMPILATION:

Ramping the sub-bass up and easing the tempo down, Sub 150 is the brand new download compilation from Hospital Records. Expect dubstep, drumstep and everything in between in this immense 20-track offering as Sub 150 delves into the medical records of releases past and recruits fresh blood for releases future. Known primarily as a drum+bass label, there have always been a plethora of other genres and styles on offer on the Hospital, with releases extending deep and wide into what has become known more recently as ?bass music?, from some of the pioneers of what has become known as ?dubstep? (the likes of Phuturistix and Darqwan), to the more recent alternative offerings from big guns Netsky, Logistics and Camo & Krooked. 

Featuring signed Hospital artists, our extended Med School family, along with other likeminded names Blokhe4d, N3gus, Randomer, Martsman and CLS and newcomers such as Other Echoes (Nu:Tone and Logistics?s youngest brother no less!) - flavours are varied, exciting and always unique.

The Guardians Band of the week Submerse brings the classic garage flavours with his superb This Time Youre Wrong, while Other Echoes, the youngest of the Gresham brothers, makes his debut on Hospital with spaced out dubstep riddim Quantum Spectrum (feat. Tim Parker). 

Proving theres always been more to Hospital than meets the eye, this collection of past and present hits plunges below the 150bpm mark. Prepare to be immersed.

N3GUS FEAT CARASEL - SNAKES (Hospital records)

The combined heavyweight forces of @CrissyCriss and @TCdnb have already proven to be an unstoppable force. Individually they’ve demonstrated this throughout their illustrious careers, although their recent collaboration ‘Dark Mode’ shows what can happen when the two production heavyweights merge their enviable talents. Released through Crissy Criss’ ‘War on Silence’ imprint, which has given him complete creative control and has enabled him to unleash his recent, similarly titled album, TC isn’t the only pivotal figure who’s made an appearance on the label. And this is why, even over such a short space of time, the imprint has received global attention. After Crissy Criss’ stint on BBC Radio 1, where he spearheaded one of the most imperative drum & bass shows within the scene’s history, this comes as little surprise too. However it’s the music which has been released on @WarOnSilence which has proven to be just as successful. One look at Crissy’ debut LP on the label demonstrates this fact, with one of its lead singles ‘Real’ with WiDEAWAKE gaining a position on Radio 1’s daytime playlist and amassing millions of streams via the Spotify platform.

However, contrary to the commercial viability of tracks like ‘Real’, TC and Crissy come with something much darker. Their next collaboration ‘FIRE’ is a testament to this and it’s one which is aptly named. Pushing through with chaotic drum breaks and featuring Bristol based Carasel on vocals, it’s a call to arms and one which will certainly make its presence known across dancefloors internationally. It’s the perfect record to continue festival season with; Crissy has already detonated this cut throughout the touring market and fans both old and new will recognise this set list monster. There’s an array of artists brought into ‘FIRE’ and it shows the influence which Crissy has within the drum & bass world. He’s able to bring on board names of this level and as a result, provide the most raucous slammers.
