Single from my upcoming album "internet explorer" - documenting websites I found when I was younger that left an impact on my psyche.

Susan's is one of the earliest forums for discussion of transgenderism and largely focuses around makeup and fashion. It was mocked at large in later iterations of lgbt forums for its generally positive attitude towards all individuals regardless of appearance, coined as "Hugboxing". The forum banned discussion of DIY HRT, resulting in criticism from many people who found it after its original conception. Another source of controversy was its open discussion of sissy culture in tandem with transgenderism, which left a sour taste in the mouth of younger users. It constantly has remained in a cycle of fundraising as it struggles to survive in the 2020th century.

awpclan is a web of counterstrike source servers that I spent many hours of my life during the worst years of my life occupying. With alot of other server providers it was always a concern that someone who didn't like you would be on the administration team resulting in your information being compromised - leading to doxxing and harassment. awpclan was a safehaven of sorts for me in this regard and one of the few online social spaces I had that was inconsequential in an era full of pedophiles and hateful people. Your options for friendship as a queer teenager with niche interests fluctuated between pedophiles trying to manipulate you and larping catholics trying to convince you that transgenderism is a moral issue. It was nice to have a place on the internet that was still just a videogame.

youtube occupies many points in cyberspace-time and continues to, through its algorithm that is vastly overcorrective, create fractal microcosms of pockets of new internet culture. Despite the culture this creates oftentimes being annoying, its one of the few places something can enter the viewing portal for people who didn't search for shit and didn't even know they want it. This oftentimes lead to totally random but overall pleasant albums going viral on an absurd scale. I've made new youtube accounts and attempted to cultivate a specific algorithm to survey the surroundings. It feels like one of few places that is still possible to explore in a very real, tangible and meaningful way. The rise of bot generated content and shit made to farm views has made it more difficult to sift through but its still possible. I feel a deep resentment for everyone who has played a role in the defacing of YouTube and I feel that its approaching a point where it will not be usable for my purposes in the near future. I've been trying to make the most of it while I can, but I can't help but feel like I'm losing access to one of the only things I have left from my youth. It has been my sole source for streaming music and discovering new music since I first began that pursuit.

Tree Festival

Roblox is at the forefront of culture in terms of accessibility - making it many steps ahead alternative shared 3D sandbox games. The map editor is simple to use and publishing your own works is similarly simple to figure out. The new integration of proximity voice chat has unlocked new possibilities for the future of the space. Roblox can be played on most modern videogame consoles, web browsers and cellphones - and even many of these systems that are highly out of date. This all played a role in Mages Guild choosing to use it for the first Noobfest event. Our beloved Count Fangula made the map(s) on a pretty busted prebuilt desktop that couldn't run anything else. There are barely any (if any) other games with active playerbases and developers that function with such a lack of hardware requirements. Roblox is one of few things that makes me optimistic about future online spaces.
