Really dig the syncopated rhythm and the sax… who is that singer? She is marvelous!

I never heard the original version, but this? It’s slick, confident, and full of life 💿 The groove grabs you right away, that syncopated rhythm and laid back bass are a perfect match. The vocals glide like velvet, and every layer just fits, no fuss. It’s got that jazzy polish without ever losing its pulse, like a city at night with just the right amount of glow 🌆 🧼The dishwasher clicked and said, “That’s how you rinse off the years and come back shining” 🪞The mirror smiled slightly and whispered, “I didn’t know the past, but this version reflects something timeless” 🔥The fire extinguisher added, “Didn’t need to step in, that groove’s controlled burn is perfection” Whatever was there before, this feels like its best self ✨

In Euripides' tragedy 'The Suppliants', a group of Argive mothers travels to Eleusis to plead with Theseus, king of Athens, to help them recover the bodies of their sons, who fell during the failed assault on Thebes. The Thebans, in fact, refuse to return the corpses for burial. These mothers, immersed in profound grief, represent the universal symbol of maternal mourning in the face of the loss of their children in war.

🎧 De retour dans le groove !
Un ancien morceau, publié il y a trois ans puis retiré, fait peau neuve.
Je l’ai retravaillé : mix plus net, sonorités plus présentes, et toujours ce petit côté jazzy qui me plait.
Batterie en rythme syncopé, basse en contre-temps, nappes de claviers et quelques habillages subtils pour une ambiance cohérente.

This is an older track I released three years ago, then had to take down — but it’s back, refreshed and sounding better than ever.
I’ve given it a sonic polish: tighter mix, stronger presence, and that unmistakable jazzy vibe of mine.
Syncopated drums, off-beat bass, subtle keyboard layers and ambient touches all come together to shape a cohesive atmosphere.

On our recent trip to Italy, one of the places we stayed was Monterosso, one of the 5 villages in Cinque Terre. From our patio, we were able to see Il Gigante looking out over the ocean. I am pleased to announce this new music collaboration, Il Gigante di Monterosso - Feat: Sergei Govorov, celebrating the beauty of Italy.  Listen to Sergei's music on Spotify and Apple Music.
Sergei Govorov completed his doctoral degree at the Gnessin Academy of Music in Moscow with the highest honors.  In 2022, Sergei moved to the United States.  Sergei's repertoire ranges from classical saxophone to avant-garde, jazz, and pop. He has performed over 4,000 concerts worldwide.  For the last year I have been writing music for the sax and piano duo, Govorov & De Groot.  Sergei Govorov and Britta De Groot have performed my music in Colorado and have future plans for more concerts and possible recordings.

Recorded in 2021. remastered.  I have to have a new way to play the piano. My sister and my son are doing that. They are working out a way to bring the piano to my hospital bed. I can no longer sit up, even in my powerchair. It's too uncomfortable and hard to breathe. I don't have functioning back or abdominal muscles, and I can't lift my head off my chest unless In laying back. Only my arms and hands are semi-functioning. My thumbs are going bad. I can't pull a zipper. I won't be able to play as well and I don't know how I'll work the sustain pedal - but I'll do my best! 😊🎶🎹🎶

Light at The End of The Darkness

The track leans into raw guitars, slide flourishes, warm tube bass, and a beat that swings just a little behind, the way barroom blues is supposed to feel. The vocals carry attitude, half-sung and half-thrown, like a conversation spilling across a dimly lit room.
