This month’s Carhartt WIP Radio show features @donato-dozzy, one of the country’s most profound electronic music producers and DJs, internationally renowned for the hypnotic and manifold ways in which he can create deep, absorbing techno trips.

Dozzy first honed his skills at the mythical squat-slash-club Brancaleone in Rome, before moving to Berlin in the mid-aughts, where he elevated his signature style even further with his “Dozzy’s Night” residency at Panorama Bar. Since then, he has gone on to grace line-ups alongside esteemed peers, such as Marcel Dettmann, Jeff Mills, Surgeon, and his compatriot Marco Shuttle.

As a producer, Dozzy first began to make waves in 2004, and has since gone on to release a string of EPs and albums on labels such as Spectrum Spools, Tresor, or The Bunker New York. In addition, he also runs three record labels. Dozzy Records, launched 2006, @spaziodisponibile, established in 2016 together with DJ and producer Giuseppe Tillieci aka @neel, and his latest label @magacircemusica, together with the Spanish graphic artist and DJ @aliciacarrera. 

For Carhartt WIP Radio, Dozzy conducted a mix that gently immerses the listener into his rich body of work playing classics like “Gol” and remixes he has done for other artists, like the legendary experimental electronic group Cabaret Du Ciel. Carhartt WIP Radio September 2021: Donato Dozzy Radio Show

For the first show of 2022, Carhartt WIP Radio welcomes @dj-spinna-1, the legendary hip hop and deep house innovator from Brooklyn, NYC.

For 30 years Spinna has been a vital part of his hometown’s music legacy. He launched his recording career as a member of the underground hip hop group Jigmastas, before going on to work with the likes of Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Pharoahe Monch, and De La Soul. In addition, he has made his mark as a solo artist, releasing benchmark albums like “Here to There“ from 2002, as well as countless e.p.’s, compilations and remixes for legends and stars like Donald Byrd, Roy Ayers, Mary J. Blidge, or Steve Wonder.

Since his earliest days, he has been known as an eclectic dj, playing music at the cross-section of hip hop, house, soul, r&b, funk, and jazz. He is also an early proponent of parties dedicated to one artist. His “WONDER-full” DJ nights dedicated to Steve Wonder, and his “Soul Slam” events, better known as the “Michael Jackson VS Prince” parties, became celebrated gatherings all over the USA.
 
For Carhartt WIP Radio DJ Spinna has conducted a mix, which he describes as “time traveling through my early days of underground hip hop with my group Jigmastas and releases from our Beyond Real label, [before] journeying on with some of my earlier remix works and showing my evolution into House Music.”

Carhartt WIP Radio January 2022: DJ Spinna Show

For the second time Carhartt WIP Radio features a show from the Land of the Rising Sun. This time we spotlight Jazzy Sport, an umbrella for a label, two record shops based in Morioka and Tokyo, a distribution company and a production studio in Tokyo. Their musical foundations are rooted in Jazz, Hip Hop, Downtempo, Library music, and House. Each genre can be found in this mix prepared by the Tokyo based DJ and producer grooveman Spot. Besides a few of his own tracks, you will experience music by Japanese artists like DJ Mitsu the Beats, Cro-Magnon, and Physical Sound Sport, who all produce music of varied styles, tempos and grooves.

Carhartt WIP Radio January 2014: Grooveman Spot - Jazzy Sport Radio Show

Once again, Carhartt WIP Radio welcomes Innervisions to the airwaves with a mix from Kristian Beyer, one half of the irrepressible, in vogue duo, Âme. Since 2003, German duo Kristian Beyer and Frank Wiedemann have produced music under the alias Âme, combining floor-filling tunes with musical elements that go beyond the usual formula of house and techno. Their single "Rej" became a global club hit in 2006 and the duo has been travelling the world and playing at every major club and festival ever since. If that wasn't enough, along with their buddy Dixon, they also run the Innervisions label, currently one of the most sought-after names in contemporary house. Lately Wiedemann has taken to playing solo live as Âme, while Beyer deejays under the same alias. For Carhartt WIP Radio, Kristian has mixed a show featuring some of his favourite tracks from the Innervisions archive.

Carhartt WIP Radio July 2023: Héctor Oaks KAOS/OAKS

For August 2023, Carhartt WIP Radio welcomes @keinemusik, a Berlin-based collective and record label composed of producers/DJs @rampa, @andmeandyou, @adam-port, Reznik, and visual artist Monja Gentschow. 

Although Keinemusik’s members bonded over a shared love of music and the Berlin club scene, its name, paradoxically, means “no music” in German.

Since its origins in 2009, Keinemusik has amassed a devoted following among local and international audiences alike, playing everywhere from Circoloco in Ibiza to Elsewhere in New York City. 

In 2017, the group released its debut album “You Are Safe”. The collective gained further acclaim in 2022, after &ME and Rampa earned production credits on Drake’s 11th studio album “Honestly, Nevermind”.

For this month’s show, the group has put together a mix featuring tracks and remixes exclusively by Keinemusik artists, sprawling minimal techno, Balearic, and house. Carhartt WIP Radio August 2023: Keinemusik

This month’s Carhartt WIP Radio show places a spotlight on Rotterdam and the influential record label, store and distributor @clone-nl.

Founded by @sergeclone, Clone launched in 1992 with the EP “Coördinated Sounds & Sequences," under Serge’s moniker Orx. 

What began as a platform for Serge’s own music and his friends’ has grown into a worldwide operation, with Clone’s current roster of artists including Finland’s Aleksi Perälä, Germany’s Roman Flügel, and Legowelt from The Netherlands, as well as Detroit’s Drexciya, The Other People Place, and Der Zyklus. Under Clone Records are also several sub labels including  Basement Series, Royal Oak, and Clone Jack for Daze.

In 1995, Serge launched Clone the record store, as well as its distribution arm, which specializes in electronic music, original soundtracks, jazz, funk, and Italo disco from a variety of international labels. 

For this episode of Carhartt WIP Radio, Serge offers an insight into Clone with a mix featuring tracks from its most recent catalog, while paying tribute to the birthplace of techno – Detroit.

Born and raised on Chicago’s South Side, keiyaA grew up singing in the Chicago Children's Choir, before studying the alto saxophone. Today, she combines her jazz training with stirring vocals and neo-soul sensibilities to create richly textured, yet introspective music. Her sound touches r&b, hip hop, and jazz, while also venturing into IDM, ambient, and experimental realms.

This month’s radio show celebrates the Carhartt WIP x Tresor collaboration, highlighting the historic Berlin and Detroit techno axis, also known as 030/313.

For the show, we welcome the Hamburg-based DJ @helena-hauff, who has created a mix documenting the legacy of Tresor, both as a club and record label, and its link to the roots of techno in Detroit.

Pulsing with wild melodies and rapid kicks, the mix was recorded using all vinyl, and features classics from the likes of Drexciya, Joey Beltram, and the late Silent Servant, as well as records from nascent producers such as UFO95. Carhartt WIP Radio June 2024: Helena Hauff - Tresor

For October’s edition of Carhartt WIP Radio, we’re welcoming London producer and songwriter Nathan Jenkins, also known as Bullion (@bullionness). 

Bullion made his debut in 2007 with the release of “Pet Sounds: In the Key of Dee,” a mashup project that remixed the music of J Dilla with The Beach Boys. Evolving this sample-led approach, he released the project “You Drive Me to Plastic” in 2011, composed of samples taken from YouTube clips, old vinyls, and incidental recordings.

A string of releases followed across labels including Honest Jon’s, R&S, and Young, before Bullion launched his own imprint DEEK Recordings in 2012, with the release of his 80s-pop-tinged EP “Love Me Oh Please Love Me.”

Alongside his prolific solo projects, Bullion often works with other artists, with credits ranging from Nilüfer Yanya and Sampha to Avalon Emerson and Ben Howard. Bullion’s latest album, “Affection,” highlights this collaborative aspect, featuring contributions from Carly Rae Jepsen, Panda Bear, and Charlotte Adigéry.

For this Carhartt WIP Radio episode, Bullion has created a mix featuring a vibrant blend of his solo work, as well as production for other musicians, and select remixes.

Carhartt WIP Radio October 2024: Bullion

This month’s Carhartt WIP Radio show is hosted by the Kaifeng-born, London-based composer, sound artist, and DJ @yu_su.

Since releasing her debut EP Preparation for Departure in 2018, the artist has emerged as one of the most versatile producers in electronic music, whether it’s creating meditative, downtempo sounds and rich, jazz-inspired textures, or blending echoes of Chinese classical with mid-tempo house.

In 2021, Su co-founded the label @bie-records, launching it with her debut album Yellow River Blue, which was recorded during a winter tour of mainland China, and is filled with glimmering synths, dubbed-out bass, and moments of 90s trip-hop.

To close out the year, we’re bringing you a very special Carhartt WIP Radio episode featuring none other than Alan Daniel Maman – better known as @thealchemistofficial

A globally-renowned producer and DJ, celebrated for his significant contributions to hip hop, Alchemist grew up in the Westside of LA, immersed in skateboarding, graffiti, and music.

Alchemist started out as a rapper in the early 90s in the duo The Whooliganz, but his breakthrough as a producer came later in the decade, making beats for Dilated Peoples and Mobb Deep. By the early 2000s, Alchemist had risen to prominence with his signature sample-based production, which blended elements of jazz, soul, and psychedelic rock. This led to collaborations with rappers like Nas, Fat Joe, Jadakiss, and Ghostface Killah.

In 2004, Alchemist released his debut album “1st Infantry,” and his sophomore album “Chemical Warfare” in 2009, which featured contributions from Eminem, Pusha T, Talib Kweli and Twista. A slew of collaborative projects also followed, such as “Rare Chandeliers” with Action Bronson, “Alfredo” with Freddie Gibbs, and “Continuance” with Curren$y.

For this year’s final show, Alchemist delivers an exclusive mix that transports us back to 2000, a pivotal year marked by his move to New York, when he would cross paths with Mobb Deep’s Prodigy and Havoc. Carhartt WIP Radio December 2024: Alchemist

Hailing from South London, the producer and DJ has been a leading figure in electronic music since the early 2000s, who as part of the legendary DMZ crew and label, pioneered a genre rooted in sound system culture – a genre we know now as dubstep.

In 2006, Mala founded his label @deep-medi-musik as a platform for more experimental releases. It has remained a vital force in underground bass music, with a roster of artists including Kaiju, Silkie and Goth-Trad.

Carhartt WIP Radio March 2025: Mala / DEEP MEDi MUSIK

This month’s Carhartt WIP Radio show features the London-based record label @hooversound, co-founded in 2020 by musicians and long-time friends @iamsherelle and @naina_ldn. Focused on pushing the boundaries of electronic music, from hardcore jungle to cutting-edge dubstep and gqom, Hooversound has released music from the likes of Special Request and Tim Reaper, Deft, and Drumskull, as well as its founders. 

For this edition of Carhartt WIP Radio, both Sherelle and Naina have created a fast-paced mix pulsing with Hooversound’s signature energy, showcasing the wide array of artists on their roster, while hinting at some forthcoming releases.

Carhartt WIP Radio April 2025: Sherelle/Naina Hooversound

This month’s show features DJ and producer @juan-atkins, also known as Model 500 or Infiniti, and the music of his fabled label Metroplex. 

Launched in 1985, Metroplex opened with the Model 500 EP "No UFOs." The global demand for his new sound provided Atkins with an outlet for a string of iconic releases. 40 years on, he remains deeply committed to pushing the boundaries of sonic exploration.

For Carhartt WIP Radio, Juan Atkins has created a Metroplex anniversary mix that underlines the label’s innovative style, with tracks by himself, as well as his daughter Milan Ariel, and producers like Robert Hood.

This month’s Carhartt WIP Radio episode features independent record label @smalltownsupersound, founded over 30 years ago in Norway by Joakim Haugland.

While some may have discovered the label through anthemic tracks like Todd Terje’s “Inspector Norse”, others might know it through its growing roster of artists, including Kelly Lee Owens, Lindstrøm, Neneh Cherry and Actress. Today, Smalltown Supersound continues to defy categorization, with recent releases from composer Kara-Lis Coverdale and UK producer Barker.

This month episode of Carhartt WIP Radio is brought to you by the Amsterdam-based musician, artist, and DJ @upsammy, whose sounds map a futuristic terrain of crystalline melodies, complex rhythms, and a blend of digital and organic textures.

In 2016, she uploaded her track “Zona” to SoundCloud, which caught the attention of the Nousklaer Audio label, and led to her debut EP "Another Place" in 2018. Since then, she’s released more music on Nous'klaer, as well as on Dekmantel, Pan, and Die Orakel; held residencies at NTS Radio and Amsterdam’s club Garage Noords; and completed a degree at Utrecht University of the Arts. In 2025, she debuted a new audiovisual live show for her album Strange Meridians, released in 2024 on topo2.

Carhartt WIP Radio July 2025: upsammy

This month Carhartt WIP Radio spotlights the collaborative work of composer @infinityknives & MC Brian Ennals, whose mixture of genre-defying production and uncompromising, irreverent lyrics has seen them gain a cult following since their 2020 debut, "Rhino XXL".

In 2022, the Baltimore-based duo released "King Cobra", an exhilarating project that explored the artists’ idiosyncratic styles through warped, 80s-style synths and folk-tinged melodies, punctuated by Ennals’ sharp, incendiary raps. The project culminated in a global tour, with the European leg supported by Carhartt WIP. 

This April, Infinity Knives & Brian Ennals returned with "A City Drowned in God's Black Tears" on UK label Phantom Limb. Sonically and lyrically, the album advances their experimental approach, traversing glitchy electronics, psych-folk, doom metal, cumbia, and soul.  

For this episode, the duo created a mix featuring numerous collaborative works, old and new. This month Carhartt WIP Radio show spotlights @djholographic. Previously described as a “one-woman funk machine,” her sets draw from an array of genres, such as house, disco and, R&B, combining these with elements of techno and Motown, representative of her hometown of Detroit.

Describing music as “architecture for the spirit,” Holographic’s sets have seen her captivate dancefloors at iconic venues, like London’s Fabric and Berlin’s Panorama Bar. In 2020, Holographic released her debut EP “Parallel Shifting.” A year later, she mixed "Detroit Love Vol. 5" for Carl Craig’s Planet E Communications, before debuting her 2024 LP “House in the Dark,” under her second label Through the Veil.

This month’s show is brought to you by the Canada-born, Berlin-based producer, DJ, and label founder @darwinspec. Darwin cut her teeth in Berlin’s nightclubs in 2010, first a regular on Panorama Bar’s dance floor, before stepping behind the decks at the now-defunct club Griessmühle, where she hosted her first residency in 2014. 
 
In 2015, Darwin launched her label @specrecords, dedicated to platforming UK bass and hybrid club sounds by new, up-and-coming artists. Carhartt WIP Radio October 2025: SPE:C

This month’s Carhartt WIP Radio show welcomes none other than producer and DJ @carlcraignet, a leading figure in Detroit’s electronic music scene, who rose to prominence in the late 1980s as part of the second generation of techno pioneers.

While shaping the city’s musical legacy, Craig also evolved his own sound, with an eclectic approach to making music that has seen him explore breakbeat, jazz, disco, and classical, under several aliases including 69, Paperclip People, Innerzone Orchestra and C2. In 1991, he founded the label Planet E, through which he released his own music as well as that of artists such as Kevin Saunderson, Moodymann, and Kenny Larkin.

For this episode, we are diving into Planet E’s catalogue to celebrate over 30 years of the label and its founder’s enduring influence, with a mix created by Carl Craig himself. The mix comes with an interview where Craig discusses discovering electronic gear via 80s toys, how his fascination with cars converged with a love of music, and why AI-assisted tools aren't as novel as they may seem. Carhartt WIP Radio November 2025: Carl Craig - Planet E

For the final show of the year, producer and @dj-pinch (AKA Rob Ellis) closes things out with a mix celebrating 20 years of his label @tectonic-recordings – an imprint which has been at the forefront of pioneering dubstep since 2005.

Established in Bristol, where Pinch has called home since the late 90s, Tectonic emerged from a city renowned for its creative communities and music scene, rooted in a history of reggae, trip-hop, and jungle.

The label’s first release was Pinch’s own 12", titled “Alien Tongue / War Dub” featuring P Dutty. From there, he went on to release his solo debut Underwater Dancehall and later, Reality Tunnels on Tectonic, alongside a slew of records from the likes of Peverlist, Loefah, Skream, Photek, Shed, and Mumdance & Logos. Beyond Tectonic, Pinch has collaborated with musician Shackleton on a ground-breaking album in 2011, as well as two projects with legendary dub producer Adrian Sherwood.

Over time, Tectonic’s sound has evolved from its dubstep roots towards the fringes, from breakcore and bass to experimental techno. The mix that Pinch has created for this month’s  Carhartt WIP Radio show traces Tectonic’s back catalogs, sharing past tracks alongside the present, with a few special mash-ups along the way.

Carhartt WIP Radio December 2025: Pinch / Tectonic

The first Carhartt WIP Radio show of 2026 is brought to you by @black-rave-culture, the Washington, D.C. collective composed of James Bangura, Nativesun and Amal. The trio first connected in 2020 at the height of the global pandemic, as swathes of Black Lives Matter protests swept across America, and further afield. During this time, making music together became a way of processing grief and navigating the world around them. From these sessions, Black Rave Culture officially formed with a broader mission: To educate, while reclaiming and celebrating the Black origins of electronic dance music.

For this month’s episode, the trio have created an exclusive mix that channels their signature East Coast influences while also incorporating UK bass and sound system culture, as well as rhythms from Africa, Portugal, and Latin America. Accompanying the mix is an interview, where the trio reflects on how D.C.’s challenging scene fuels creativity, their approach to sampling as a storytelling tool, and why performing together is like playing musical chairs. Carhartt WIP fan Glen Earl Boothe, raised in New Jersey and Philadelphia and now based in Los Angeles, is better known as Knxwledge - an instrumental Hip-Hop producer with a love of Jazz, Soul, old skool Hip-Hop and modern Rap, all of which have a profound effect on his creativity. After dozens of remixes and collections of his countless tracks on Bandcamp (compiled on Leaving Records' 'Anthology' from 2013), Knxwledge has produced for the likes of Kendrick Lamar and Joey Bada$$, released several LP’s on labels like Stones Throw and All City Records and has recently collaborated with Anderson Paak as NxWorries for the LP  “Yes Lawd!”, released on Stones Throw. For Carhartt WIP radio he has now prepared an exclusive mix that consists of his very own, mostly unreleased Knxwledge material.

Carhartt WIP Radio December 2016: Knxwledge - Radio Show

For this month’s Carhartt WIP Radio Show, we present almost two hours minutes of Trojan Records music, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the iconic reggae label. Curated by Canadian DJ, producer and record collector Scott Monteith, aka Deadbeat, the show sees him dig deep into his personal collection and the archives of Trojan Records to conduct a mix that mirrors the many ska, rocksteady, reggae and dub hues of the British label.
 
Founded in 1968, Trojan introduced reggae to a global audience while scoring UK chart hits with artists such as The Upsetters, Desmond Dekker, Jimmy Cliff and The Maytals. Additionally, the label licensed Jamaican music by legendary producers such as Duke Reid and Leslie Kong, helping take their sounds global.
 
To celebrate the 50th anniversary, Carhartt WIP has also joined forces with Trojan Records to create a capsule collection featuring feverish graphics by the Chicago based design collective Boot Boyz, who were given access to the vast Trojan graphic archive.

Carhartt WIP Radio August 2018: Deadbeat - Trojan Records Radio Show

This month Carhartt WIP Radio features a musical journey by producer, DJ and Akashik Records co-founder Ringgo Ancheta, aka Mndsgn. Raised with Gospel music at church and B-Boy culture at home in south New Jersey, he began experimenting with beat making when he was 14, before befriending fellow producer Knxwledge. The two would eventually go on to form the influential Klipmode collective.

After moving to Los Angeles, Mndsgn's music flourished, catching the attention of labels such Stones Throw and Leaving Records, who put out his albums Yawn Zen, Surface Outtakes and Body Wash. His latest project is titled Snax – a mixtape brimming with esoteric hip hop flavours and freshly cut Mndsgn remixes, and one which also serves as the debut release for his brand new label Ringgo.

About to embark upon a European tour – presented by Carhartt WIP – which will take him to Lisbon, Madrid, Cologne, Berlin, London, The Hague and Milan, we asked him to prepare a show that focuses on the releases of Akashik Records, the little DIY label he has run with his buddies Alima and Shane Sakanoi since 2015. The result is a unique, nonchalant mix of twisted contemporary electronics, driving funk, hot soul, agitating hip hop, and silky R&B.

Deep Reggae and heavy Dub: this month we present a show by Mark Ernestus with Tikiman on the mic. As the founder of the legendary Berlin based Hard Wax record store he laid the foundation for Berlin's electronic club music scene in 1989. As one half of Basic Channel (aka Maurizio), he gained international fame with a hybrid of Dub and Techno. As part of the duo Rhythm & Sound he refined this signature sound alongside a range of vocalists - most extensively Tikiman aka Paul St. Hilaire. For this month’s Carhartt WIP Radio show we bring you FloFilz, one of Germany’s most in-demand hip hop producers. Since 2013 he has released instrumental records on labels such as Melting Pot Music and Jakarta, with a style that seductively blends soul- and jazz-influenced grooves.

FloFilz’s first two albums as a beatmaker were collaborative works, and in late 2014 he released his first solo LP titled "Metronom". Four instrumental albums have since followed, cementing his reputation as jazz-connoisseur producer, who seeks to open up the genre to a new generation of listeners.

For his Carhartt WIP Radio show, he melds older work with tracks from his upcoming album "Transit". As usual we also sat down to speak to this month’s host, chatting about his upbringing, Bach and J Dilla, and his thoughts on Germany’s hip hop scene. Carhartt WIP Radio June 2019: FloFilz Radio Show

To celebrate the 60th anniversary of Motown, the iconic record label launched in 1959 in Detroit, Michigan by Berry Gordy Jr., Carhartt WIP will release a thirteen-piece capsule collection in the coming weeks. The collaboration honors a label that reshaped the sound of American pop music, diversifying its airwaves in the process. 

To mark the collection launch, we reached out to Detroit native Kenny Dixon Jr. aka Moodymann and asked him to prepare a strictly Motown music Carhartt WIP Radio show, that displays his personal love for the label.
 
As Moodymann is not man for hasty reactions, he delivered a detailed mix featuring rare b-sides, interviews and live recordings by Motown artists like Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross & The Supremes, Steve Wonder, Kem and Dazz Band. Asked about his very own feelings towards his mix, Kenny Dixon Jr. simply says: “No matter where I‘m standing it’s good to hear home sometimes. These songs are woven into the soundtrack of my own personal movie.”  There is nothing more to add, only: enjoy the ride!

While London’s music scene has rightly received considerable attention in recent years thanks to its burgeoning grime and drill scenes, the work of west London MC Lord Apex eschews this categorization, with a sound that skews more stateside. Notably, he cites Knxwledge as one of his favorite producers, and his particular strain of neo-soul infused beats. Much of Lord Apex’s music sits within this hard-to-define genre, which seeks to provide a contemporary framework for hip hop’s lingua franca. But despite the evident sonic influence of American rap on Lord Apex’s, his smooth distinct drawl and subject matter leave you in little doubt of his London credentials.

For Carhartt WIP Radio, Lord Apex takes us on a rhythmic journey, assembled by his friend DJ Corrado, showcasing his own vast catalogue of tracks. As ever, we also sat down with this month’s host to discuss his musical upbringing, how London influence’s his sound, and hip hop on both sides of the pond.
