Mote039 comes from New York-based Mike Parker, a producer known for his consistent stream of quality work, whose first release goes back to 1997 and who is the creator of his own language of music. 

With Spitting Electricity EP Parker showcases his unique sound of dizzying array of hypnotica warped in metallic swirls. Dubbed with a fitting title to characterize his high-voltage soundscape, the EP is also a nice comeback to Mote-Evolver after his remix for Marcel Fengler’s Thwack Remixes release.

This time Parker delivers 3 tracks that are not only powerful, but also designed to deepen and strengthen almost meditative nature of techno’s outer-end, endlessly evolving with fluidity. The title track is charged with electric sparks buzzing through a hard-edged 4/4 rhythm with unstoppable ebbs and flows of intensity. Following “Polar Vortex” adds even more pressure points and characters, especially with hollowed out deep chorus of voice layering unexpected touch of solemnness. 

On the B-side is “Ice Fissure”, the longest track of the EP that takes time to render its full force. It’s also the track that’s most core to Mike Parker’s trademark perpetuating spiral vortex, featuring ever expanding ripples across the surface of sound.

Manchester-born DJ, producer and label boss, Cleric has been a prolific figure within the electronic dance landscape for fifteen years. With his label, Clergy, the Mancunian has strived to cultivate an aesthetic which mirrors that of his own musical principles. Always earnest in his conviction, Cleric has stayed staunch to the pacey, arresting techno that’s secured him his rightful place amongst the scene’s hardest of hitters.
In the ten years in which his Clergy imprint has been active, Cleric has overseen releases from Dax J, James Ruskin, Kwartz, Stef Mendesidis, Obscure Shape, Christian Wünsch & Temudo amongst others. As an astute and intuitive A&R, Cleric has also offered a platform for the new wave talent such as Félicie, Bidoben and Albert Zhirnov.

To usher in the next decade, Cleric has announced a total of 10 VA’s to be released in 2025, each with 5 original tracks, and closing with a remix of a track from the label’s back catalogue from Cleric himself. The first VA titled ‘Alpha’ will drop on the 25th January.

“I've always tried to push boundaries on new projects and concepts. Instead of being a standard 4 track EP every time. For our 20th release we created "visions". An unreleased mix with no track-list that was launched with visuals over on HATE. Following the release of the mix, all the tracks then released on Clergy. Aethales Pt. 1 is the first chapter of a two-part series, five tracks of energetic, groovy and hypnotic techno weaving a narrative inspired by the archetypes of Greek mythology while blending elements of modern electronic music. Its aim is to transport listeners to an inner realm, a sacred space for reflection through the hypnotic power of repetition.

Aethales (Αειθαλές) translates to "evergreen", symbolizing endurance, timelessness, and a constant state of growth. This concept reflects at the undying nature of sound, memory, and transformation. Music much like mythology, carries the burden of the past while constantly evolving and adapting to new forms and interpretations.
